...like the bigots of yesteryear who formed antagonistic views to the truth?

Remember, they rushed Jesus to a false trial and illegal crucifixion, even after experiencing His last miracles of being floored with their armed guards to the ground with the words: “I AM (the sacred name of God)”, and watching Jesus attach a severed ear (John 18:1-13).

Ah, yes, the Christian approach : scare 'em while they're young, dumb, and very impressionable.

Oh dear Ben.You told me once that you do not try to force your religious beliefs on anyone and that your God would not like you too. This is a contradiction of that previous statement. But in res ponce to your question, people who do not believe or have faith are not fazed by your question and are likely to ignore it or condemn it.People who do not share your views are not bigots. You should not condemn their choices away by criticising.Do not underestimate people's intelligence and knowledge about God and Jesus, even if they have made the decision to reject it.And don't sit in judgement.Isn't that how your Jesus died.?

Iam 22, young? Well, i think that everyone's beliefs must be tested. Like , for example, how did God show u His love and made u believe in Him? That is something done by God. And we , in return, become excited , and very eager to follow God.

So when we watch anything which is aimed to weaken our faith , will not have its effect on us.

God Luck!

Young Person: "what do you mean I can't get in Come On Peter, I have been Good"

Peter: 'let me check the books, Oh, I see, you made a nasty post in Yahoo Answers in late August 2007, as a result Jesus has decided that you should be tortured for Eternity. Sorry about that, and remember God is Love"

My answers are for the Lord and I hope that my answers may touch someone's heart out there to turn to Jesus. The answers do not solidify everyone's values because people change. God can still come in to a person's heart later on in life.

Responses have proved your point, Ben:

It is the law of the mind that repletion strengthens beliefs, even if obvious error is repeated--a form of rationalization and solidification.

Those who develop argumentative personalities may think they are elevating their esteem above their peers, but they become unfit for society, and disqualify themselves for eternity. Let us pray for them that God may pierce their hardened hearts.

How does a post like this get this many responses?! The grammar is terrible, the train of thought is impossible to follow- it doesn't make any sense.

Isn't it interesting that atheists ask people to think, and some theists ask people to fear?

Did a historical Jesus exist?
http://www.nobeliefs.com/exist.htm

ALL CLAIMS OF JESUS DERIVE FROM HEARSAY ACCOUNTS

No one has the slightest physical evidence to support a historical Jesus; no artifacts, dwelling, works of carpentry, or self-written manuscripts. All claims about Jesus derive from writings of other people. There occurs no contemporary Roman record that shows Pontius Pilate executing a man named Jesus. Devastating to historians, there occurs not a single contemporary writing that mentions Jesus. All documents about Jesus got written well after the life of the alleged Jesus from either: unknown authors, people who had never met an earthly Jesus, or from fraudulent, mythical or allegorical writings. Although one can argue that many of these writings come from fraud or interpolations, I will use the information and dates to show that even if these sources did not come from interpolations, they could still not serve as reliable evidence for a historical Jesus, simply because all sources derive from hearsay accounts.

Hearsay means information derived from other people rather than on a witness' own knowledge.

Courts of law do not generally allow hearsay as testimony, and nor does honest modern scholarship. Hearsay provides no proof or good evidence, and therefore, we should dismiss it.

Let's hope that by "solidify your values" you don't mean "cause your values to adhere to a strict and narrow dogma." Someone who is secure in his or her values and ability to discern will not be afraid of hearing and interpreting new ideas.
