I agree with you and for those who say that there is no racism in Christianity, your doing one of two thing ignoring it or perpetuating it.

Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard. ~ Leviticus 19:27
Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. ~ Matthew 5:17 (Jesus Christ)
If Christ came to fulfill the law then he would have adhered to the law in Leviticus and thus would not have cut the hair at the sides of his head or clip off the edges of the beard.
He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. ~ Isaiah 53:2
The scripture above is prophesying about Christ. So what ever Christ looked like as a man he was not beautiful or desirable in appearance.
God purposely didn't reveal Jesus' full appearance in scripture so that it would not cause conflict between races and peoples appearances. God is love not vanity. God shows no favoritism.

I am not afraid of what does not exist. Jesus can no more be black than I am, however, he was not white either. Jesus was a Jew and and Israelite. He was what we call olive complexion. He would look more middle eastern.
Now, racism is one subject I think gets over played by those of non-white color, blacks are the worst at calling this card. Yet they have in recent history benifited the most from the persecution of their fore fathers. Jews on the other hand as well as many other peoples are suffering to this day and yet the blacks still will not let the past die.
We will have a lot to explain on Judgment day, but racism and oppression will be at the bottom of the list. Face it even God used oppression to discipline his people. We will have to answer for our actions to be sure, but it will be about denying God. As David said "agianst you and you alone O Lord have I sinned."
Now having said that when we love God we show it by how we react to others and if we treat them so poorly merely because they are different and cause them not to find God we will indeed have something to answer for. Make sense?
Funny thing is you will see me as a racist and all the anti racist stuff you believe in is really anti white (which is racism by the way!)

He wouldn't be black or white he would be a middle eastern why do you think there is war( I'm just playing). But really there is no racism when it comes too believing in Jesus..... Christianity has always said to be racist. The fact that Jesus was born in the middle eastern area Jerusalem, he would most likely be tanned. They used paintings back then not photographs. So the artist could easily change how the person looked.

Christians are supposed to believe in only one race - the HUMAN race.
It is a fact that humans tend to identify with those who "look like them". Thus, white Christians envision a white Christ, Blacks a Black Christ, etc...
Jesus himself, when he was alive on the earth, coming from the middle east he probably looked more like a Persian than white or black. But now, he has transcended race.
Jesus isn't white or black or asian or hispanic or mixed-breed.

It really doesn't matter to me , the color but if you read( rev. 1 chp 14 and 15 verses) you will see that he was of th same color as the Israelites of that day.
All that matters is that he died for my sins so that i may have everlasting life. oh how i love Jesus a name above all names.
and through him i may see my father and have a place in his kingdom by the blood that Jesus shed for me on the cross amen.

megatron-
boy, you are a retard! There is clear evidence in every culture, in all history that Jesus existed! Now, you believing in His deity is another story.
Dont show your ignorance by saying a historical person never did exist. Its fine if you dont agree, but al least pretend to have sense.
As to the question: I dont fear Him being of any race/color. Some do & that is a shame.

The premise of your question is wrong but even so, NO, we're not afraid of a black Jesus and many of us who went to University have had some experience with a "Purple Jesus" :-)

Considering the place he grew up in and considering the general skin tone of people growing up and coming from that area, wouldn't you say that Jesus Christ was actually just simply a dark tanned kind of colour?
