Get used to being miserable.
-or-
Suck it up and go to a doctor.
They are trained and you pay them. They don't laugh at people with OCD or any other illness. It would be like laughing at someone for having the flu.

Why can't you go to the doctor? If you are in fact OCD, its ok. Don't feel like a leper. Many people have this anxiety problem. It is on the "normal" side. Nobody is perfect. I would try to embrace the problem. If you are not going to go on Meds, then accept that this is the new you and go from there. For example: Are you overly organized? Buy a label maker and organize! Are you anxious over something? What are you anxious over? Work on that issue, even if its spend more of your time on that thing whatever it maybe. Are you stressed by people? Take some alone time, walk away, read a magazine, or take a bubble bath. Hope this helps you out! Good Luck!

I know you dont want to go to the doctors, but you really need to that is the only way to get through this cuz he can put you on a medication to help you or try a therapist. Dont worry, the doctor knows your not making it up, i have the same problem, i take celexa for mine and it does a wonders! Good luck, and do not be scared to go to the doctor.

Trust me, they won't think you're stupid. I've had to go to therapists before, and they will take you seriously. Just try not to get put on medications too much, try to find as many alternatives to deal with it. Paxel helped me for a little while, but untimatly, it was what was happening in my life that made me and up with panic attacks and ocd.
Good luck!
PS, you don't have to discuss your problems with anyone you aren't comfortable with, therapist, family, friends, anyone. Don't feel you have to.

You really need therapy now, before it takes over your life: the doctor will refer you fpr treatment. See OCD, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris on page 7, but make an appointment first.

A counselor will not think you are making it up or stupid. They deal with this all the time. Make the apppointment today. It can only help. You are not going to be able to get over this on your own if it just keeps getting worse.

If you have OCD you actually need to be seen and diagnosed by a doctor. They have medicines and therapies that can help with the condition.

Contact your local mental health facility and explain the situation, and see if someone can come and visit you at home.
