I have some friends mostly guys and they bum rides all the time in my car to the mall etc I asked them to pay some gas money but then I changed my mind and asked them to buy me a few clothes they said ok and I got a cute outfit. my mom freaked and said I was hoaring myself out. I don't understand I did them a favor why not let them buy me a skirt or whatever instead of money for gas? help.

i think your mom is kind of right. i don't know that i would call it whoring but, there are more reasonable trades. them buying lunch or coffee. a pack of cigarettes(if you smoke) the offer to return the favor when you need something important. all of these are a more equal trade for a ride.

I'd stick with the gas money n do the shopping urself for clothes. Its a lil inappropiate by traditional standards otherwise...Im not saying its wrong cause all u did was drive a car but just from the traditional point of view

You're alright. If they did pay you gas money, no where is it written that you must buy gas with it. So what's the diff if they buy you clothes or if you use the money yourself to buy clothes? Besides, the clothes will last longer than the gas will.
