The guy is my favorite driver, and hes been consistently been finishing in the top 10 lately, and the win at bristol, a track hes never really been good at, could this be his year?

Carl Edwards may be the best driver no one expects to win the Chase. I really like this guy. He races clean and I enjoy his trademark back flips that he does when he wins. I think we will see a lot more back flips this year. Wouldn't it be great if he won the Busch (which he will) and the Nextel Cup?

Of course i can see Carl winning the Cup this year! If he's in the chase and he is, then he has just a good a chance as the other 11 drivers. Carl Edwards has been consistent and when he has a fast car, theres no stopping him! I think he will be in the top 5 when the chase is over!!!

He hasn't had many years under his belt in CUP to really say this could be his year. I think he's slowly progressed since entering the CUP level and having success... The crew chief swap slowed him down some, but now things are back to the way they were before and he's on a roll. I don't know if any Ford really has a GREAT shot @ the title this season, but Carls shot is legitimate. He's got the talent, and has the equipment most of the time to run good. Ford has struggled as a hole this season really.. but when you're 2 top teams are a struggling Roush, and ever-struggling Robert Yates Racing... Things aren't looking so hot. Ford needs help, therefore Cousin' Carls chances are slimmer than they should be.

Honestly I don't see him winning it THIS year, though he could. I think it will be a Chevy driver from HMS or JGR but I'm not counting out Matt, Carl, Kurt or someone from RCR either. The thing with the chase is that momentum at the right time and just avoiding the really bad finishes during the chase are the keys. Carl is peaking now and could carry that into the chase. Don't forget that he finished tied for 2nd in his rookie season. Nothing against Carl, he's my 2nd favorite driver and favorite in a Ford, I just don't think a Ford will win it with so many COT races in the chase. Jack admitted that they got behind on testing the COT and they won't totally catch up until next year. Watch For Jeff, Jimmie or Tony to win it and Ford's best shot is probably with Matt but who knows?

Good luck to your favorite driver he seems to be a nice enough guy but lets face it it's up to NASCAR and who they want to win.

They have changed so many rules, fined and suspended so many crew chiefs on petty stuff, throw so many cautions they can control what they want.
If a driver is good on long runs and they don't want him to win throw a dixie cup caution.
Driver good on short runs do a mysterious caution and the bogus green white checkered.

The back flip is popular but I rather of seen Edwards do the tribute lap for Kuwicki last week.

He's got as good a shot as anybody once the points get reset. If Hendrick gives up the #5 because of Jr I hope they NEVER win another championship!

I think he has a chance, but then again, I don't think there's anyone in the Top 12 that doesn't at this point. It should be an interesting finish.

He has to beat Tony Stewart and Jeff Gordon. I don't see that happening, but I've been wrong before. Let me throw in Matt Kenseth, too. He's always a threat.

This would be great if he did.with the Chevy dominance this year this would be the shocker and someone would laugh all the way to the bank.
