Just guessing here, but I think anything that gets your blood flowing and helps to "soak up" and move any remaining alcohol through your system will help.
A friend of mine swears by having a big mac the next morning .. never tried it though :}

Hangovers usually occur due to dehydration caused by the alcohol, so drinking plenty of water every time you wake up after a night of moderate to heavy drinking, will help. A little OJ--if your tummy can tolerate the acidity--in the water is good too, for the vitamin C. In fact, you should take Vit. C BEFORE drinking, and then B vitamins after--along with lots of water, of course. You should wake up with NO HANGOVER by morning.

Rather than treat a hangover, why not prevent one? Before you have your first drink, drinka glass of water. Then have your drink. After your drink, have another glass of water. Keep repeating that cycle. You are preventing dehydration by drinking the water AND filling up on water as opposed to just alcohol. Did granny ever meet Ben Franklin? He knew that an ounce (or an 8-oz. glass) of prevention is worth a pound of cure. But if you still feel a bit woozy in the morning, drink a FLAT cola drink or get some cola syrup from an old-fashioned pharmacy/apothecary/chemist's.

Vitamin B6 (pyritinol): Some studies have found that Vitamin B6 reduces hangovers.
Narcotics: Codeine, dihydrocodeine, tilidine and other such medications directly work against many of the effects of alcohol hangover. However, preparations containing acetaminophen (paracetamol/Tylenol) should be avoided if possible when alcohol is in the system because of the risk of potentially fatal liver damage. Consumption of narcotics along with alcohol or shortly after consumption thereof is potentially dangerous in itself because of added depressant CNS effects.

Have half a pint of Guinness and a full fat Coke. The Guinness lines your stomach and gives you a much needed kick and the sugar and caffeine in the Coke will make you feel so much better. This is a tried and tested technique!
I also find a full English breakfast helps, at about lunch time!

A hangover occurs when the brain becomes dehydrated from the alcohol you've ingested. Replacing the water before you go to sleep will prevent a hangover from happening.

My friend said a Big Mac makes her feel better. I just think eating greasy food helps. The only one time I had a hangover I had some spicy mexican food and that worked for me....

Eating food helps you recover from alcohol-induced hypoglycemia, while drinking liquids helps you rehydrate.

I don't know why but red bull always does the trick for me. Also, it helps if you get up and do something like shopping or going to the gym because you have less time to think about how bad you feel because your concenttating on something else.
