To see the logic of leaving God out of the equation, consider this:

Frog + Princess's kiss = Handsome prince (fairy tale).
Frog + Millions of years = Handsome prince (theory of evolution).

By definition, no one knows what lies outside their tiny circle of knowledge. Don't be like a blind person trying to convince himself that because he has never seen, everyone else claiming to see must be mistaken.

Will you open your mind and agree?

I've opened my mind to knowledge and truth. Knowledge is the enemy of religion. Knowledge is power.

I have an open mind.

I disagree with your strawman.

I don't say there is definitely no god, Zeus or Thor could be real I suppose. The christian god as descirbed in the bible clearly doesn't exist

If he did, prayer would work like Jesus said it would (Matthew 17:20) seeing as no one has ever moved a mountain with prayer alone then clearly that god doesn't exist

If you are going to attack evolution I suggest you actually learn what it is before posting some gibberish about frogs.
Your 'circle of knowledge' clearly doesn't include evolution - so don't be like a blind person trying to convince himself that because he has never seen, everyone else claiming to see must be mistaken (sound familiar?)

The problem that I have seen the most on Y!A is that people rarely know how to logically defend their position. Things like, "Christians are braindead and stupid" or "religion is a fantasy" are not logical statements.

In one of my philosophy classes in college, I asked the professor why it believers had to defend their belief with logic while nonbelievers do not feel the need to defend their beliefs. He had no response.

Pointing out a logical inconsistency in some of the "classic" philosophical arguments (and there are indeed some) for God does not automatically mean that there is not a God. It just means that one particular argument is logically flawed, not that God doesn't exist - that's an even bigger philosophical jump.

Simply because I cannot philosophically prove that an elephant is gray, does that mean it is not? What are people going to say? "We can prove it scientifically!" I can prove that Jesus lived historically, not philosophically, does that mean anything to someone who doesn't want to believe? Nope. It's hard to find honest answers when you know what you want to find in the first place.

I am not defending atheists, but in reality logic is a product of man. So this is the loophole that allows those to believe in God to keep their beliefs and still be logical. True logic is objective and the truth is different from what one believes.
An atheists views are just that, views.
They are not absolute universal truths and if they tried to be the idea of atheism would collapse in on itself for the identical reason that Christianity and the concept of God collapse in on itself when one tries to inject logic into a being that is more powerful than all comprehension.

Since logic is a product of man it really should not offend a Christian if someone says God is illogical.

Until someone provides a plausible argument or some valid evidence for the existence of a god, the only logical position to take is atheism. Since no-one has ever come up with any such thing in all the history of human thought, I don't expect to see it anytime soon.

Frog + Balaam's talking donkey = Handsome prince (theory of creation)

I'll go with growing knowledge over superstition.

Are you another of the Mono-atheists that believe in the singular, no name, God.......May the Gods and Goddesses have mercy on the poor soul.
Will you open your mind and agree that there are infinite Gods and
Goddesses in an infinite universe? If you won't you are worse than any atheist could be, because you equivocate and hide in word games.

Will I open my mind? Yes, my mind is open. Will I agree with you? No. Opening my mind does not mean that I have to agree with your fallacious logic.

Perhaps you should open a book so that you can better understand the theory of evolution. You can't very well argue or debate something that you do not understand.

You're basing an entire system on the bible and then say empiricism is a 'tiny circle of knowledge'? I don't think a primitive creation myth is really going to expand my circle any more.

Not with reasoning like that.

God = Frog, Handsome Prince, thousands of years?

You are ignoring that the book you rely sole on for your belief system is full of errors.
