Can I use cocoa powder as a substitute if the recipe calls for baking bar? If so, what are the equivalents?

Yes...I believe it is 6 Tablespoons of cocoa powder and 2 Tablespoons of oil is equal to two squares of baking chocolate. (at least that's the amount of cocoa powder & oil I put in my fudge!)

You can definately substitute cocoa powder. I usually rather use cocoa powder instead of other kinds of chocolate. You'll just have to add a bit more sugar, since cocoa powder is bitter. I don't know what the equivalents are though...

The only difference in using powder versus the bar is you may not get the same consistance has you would using the bar. The taste will be the same..You can go to www.allrecipes.com and maybe able to find a recipe that uses powder instead of a bar for your paticular recipe. Good luck..

Use 3 tbs. of cocoa,1 tb.of oleo or crisco(I like oleo best) 3 Tbs. sugar if the recipe calls for semisweet chocolate, per one ounce of chocolate, none if it's supposed to be unsweetened bakers baking chocolate.I think the margerine turns out exactly like the baking bar in texture and taste, but the crisco or oil is a greasier less tasty result.
