Part of the problem is YOU CAVED. You now allow her to use diapers again. You have to stick to your guns with this. Its messy, YES! But you have to keep with it. Try a special kind of bribe then. Buy her a small gift that she wants, but wrap it up & put it on display. Tell her when she can be a big girl, then she can have this special big girl present. Encourage her, dont discourage. I had a difficult child here that wouldnt use the toilet no matter what, & this was the only thing that worked. At first it didnt though. He would pee in rubber pants & clothes. We finally had him running around the house in just undies, which for some reason felt different on him, when he peed. He hated it, but I had a few messes to clean up... but I did without a negative word. It took a few days, but he finally did it!! When he did we would have a big hug fest & call a family friend or relative to brag about this great accomplishment. Then after 2 weeks of no accidents & going he was awarded his big boy present!!!
So, use the pullups for bed only, & lose the diapers!!!! Best of Luck to you!!!

Try to think of some enviromental factors that may have changed recently. For example, a new babysitter, a loss in the family, an addition to the family, divorce...children pick up everything..so even though you may not think she knows something..she's probably sensing tension from you. If nothing has changed, then think about the age at which you started training. Some children who are forced to train before they are ready relapse. It's ok for your child to not be fully potty trained at this age. Many children are trained at 3 years old. If it really bothers you, you can take her to a doctor just to be sure everything is fine. I'm sure it is. Just keep working with her. Be calm and simply remind her that she needs to keep her "pretty panties" clean and take her to the potty. It may feel as though you are starting all over but you're not. When she's ready..she'll let you know.

Best thing to do is appear unfazed by it...even if that means deep breaths. Just drop the odd comment about how impressed you are by other friends kids who use the potty- personally I would throw away the potty and see if she is prepared to be a proper big girl and use the toilet. You could try a reward chart in the loo and let her put a star on it for every time she goes, with certain rewards for 5, 10 and 15 stars. For this to work you need to have the rewards in the house, show them to her and put them out of reach- great incentive!

Sure sounds like an emotional issue! There is no shame in putting her back in diapers for a bit until she is ready to try again. Hopefully once she gets used to the BSD (biological sperm donor) being around she will feel comfortable with the potty again. Be patient. Don't punish or chastise. She will get back to before you know it!

Good luck!

I am potty training my daughter, almost the same age..She does great if she has no diaper on at all, but the second I put one on her, she will pee in it...She can go all day going potty and poop on the toilet! Try letting her run with undies, no pullups, or just with nothing and a long shirt to cover her.

Hmm look at this from her point of view - you put her back in nappies and nappies are for pooing and weeing in!! Stick with the panties - you are confusing her totally.

well you have to train her/him, and you've got to be firm with your child, but i suggest getting a friend or relative who's been through this stage with their kid/s for help or advice
