Was this wrong of my parents?

Question

I come from a family where there was strict discipline. Since both me and my brother were very young (till about 14-15), we were spanked regularly by our parents (if we were bad).

Both me and my brother have been given bare bottom spankings when we had been really bad. My father used to typically administer this (and he had powerful arms!)..occasionally mommy.

I never saw it as abuse/anything wrong then. I never thought that my father spanking my bottom or mother spanking my brother is something wrong. But now i wonder?

Does a parent ever see their own children in a sexual manner? I know one thing - i never felt any shame (in a sexual way), when my father used to spank me....there was only fear and hurt.

The fact that he may be 'looking' at my privates did not shame me at all then(ditto for brother and mom). Then why is it such a big issue now????

Once when i was really sick & bedridden, my father even helped me with my bedpan (mommy was sick too)...again is it wrong??

Why are you trying to make up demons?

You had strict parents, live with the fact and stop trying to attribute any taboos to this fact

I will say it is not wrong to spank a child, but see no reason for it to be on a bare bottom. As far as your father helping with a bed pan, there are alot of male nurses and no one thinks any thing about that. Only you know if what your father did was wrong, you where there. It is a big issue now because there is alot of abuse, both physical and sexual against children today. You don't say how old you are so we don't know when this happened to you.

Your parents were administering discipline as a corrective action, to keep you from repeating the same mistake. There wasn't anything sexual in nature about it. In fact, you should be thankful that your parents took the time to discipline you, as opposed to letting you run wild and get into all sorts of things. I believe that if there were any type of fantasies in their minds, you would have memories of other types of touching outside of the spankings.

Bare-bottom spankings are sexual abuse. I think spanking is wrong anyway, but I definitely draw the line at ANYONE forcing the child to strip in order to be punished as perversion.

That kind of abuse is rare, and EXTREMELY unlikely in your case. Your parents were just administering the discipline they felt was most appropriate, and it was there right to punish a naughty child the best way they knew how.

No you are just reading too much into it. Now if your father had spanked you and touched you then yes but breathe easier and leave it alone.
