Patches
If you are using patches, you should choose a spot on your back, stomach, thighs, or upper arms to apply your patch(es).

Be sure that the spot you have chosen is not oily, hairy, likely to perspire heavily, over a bone such as a shoulder or hip, or likely to be under pressure from sitting or sleeping. Do not apply to the scrotum or a skin area with open sores or irritation. Also be sure that the patch will stay flat against the skin and will not be pulled or stretched during normal activity. Choose a different spot each night and wait at least 7 days before applying another patch to a spot you have used.

Following are two types of Testosterone which are applied to the upper body.AndroGel ® and Testim® brand gels both contain testosterone, but they are manufactured differently and are used in slightly different ways.

You can apply AndroGel® anywhere on your shoulders, upper arms, or abdomen (area between your chest and your waist).

You can apply Testim® anywhere on your shoulders or upper arms, but you should not apply it to your abdomen. You should not apply either gel to your penis or scrotum or to skin that has sores, cuts, or irritation.

Absorption in the arms and upper body are assimilated faster through the skin in the upperbody than would be, say in the legs.

I think it's supposed to be put on places you are less likely to put pressure on, to ensure an even dose.
