Is it embarassing to admit that I studied Old Icelandic last year? So, the bible would go, I'd read the original Edda.

If I were in a room with no heat I wouldn't have time to burn anything. I would be frozen solid before I could say "brr." However, if I needed to burn paper to stay alive, I would burn the Bible. I am a Bible-loving Christian but my Bible is not the last copy. There are many more out there. God's Word is important, not paper.
The problem is that burning a book to keep warm is not very wise. the flame will only last for a few minutes and then you are cold again.
If the real question is which book is more valuable, then the obvious answer is the Bible.
Here is some good advice; the more time you read your Bible the less likelihood of you being stuck in a freezing room...

Being a Christian, I'd burn the eddas first, so I would have the bible to read. Then if it was a choice between surviving or dying, I'm sure God would want me to live, so unfortunately I would have to burn the bible next.
John F, thanks I didn't know what the eddas was.

That would all depend what is each book made of, Is the room ventilated so I won't die of smoke inhalation.. Etc.
It would seem a better use of the books would be to crumple the pages and stuff my clothing creating more insulation to conserve my body heat.... As burning either simply gives heat for a very short period of time where as using the pages as insulation provides a source of retaining body heat indefinately...
If we are ever caught in a freezing room together I am in charge of our resources you don't seem prepared to make the logical and appropriate decisions to insure a longer survival..

Have to be practicable - I'd burn what was the least rare.
So - if it was a life & death situation - while regretting destroying a holy book I'd burn the bible.

What is an eddas?
Why didn't you/we pray to God before we found ourselves in this situation?

Are my clothes flammable? I'd prefer not to burn ANY book, religious or not, if I can avoid it. If I had to though, I'd burn both. I think God would forgive me.
