list a whole diatribe on the framing of a question. Was the question fragmented?, did he mispell? heaven forbid misspelling. It is almost as if people have the need to elevate themselves by putting others down. if this is true, then have fun

the answers i have read do not usually have people ranting about the framing of the question except in some cases when it really seemed to be unclear what the person was asking. if i ever bring it up it is to help the person get their question answered by letting them know some/many people find it unclear and if they rephrase it we can better answer the question.

some people just want the points so they do not answer the question or they criticize the question or rant about some off topic subject.

perhaps the reason you see this happening so much is in part because of the category you tend to ask questions in - religion and spirituality. you ask thought provoking questions and many of the answers you are given attest to the fact that some people cannot give evidence to support their point, so they resort to childish criticism or attack the way the question is asked.

this is not english class. why critique how you wrote the question that is not the point of yahoo answers. the point is to answer questions. if the question is so poorly asked then it is worth pointing out so someone can answer it but if not why bother fussing about grammar and spelling it is merely a case of typos.

A misspelled word, or a typo in a well thought out and honestly asked question should not get criticized. But lets face it, some of the question on the this site are so badly worded and spelled that it is almost impossible (and sometimes is impossible) to understand them.

You can usually tell when it is a person who uses English as a second language and they are making a sincere effort. I will overlook those every time. They are doing their best.

But these people who can not construct an intelligent sentence, have no clue what punctuation is, and can't even click the "Check Spelling" button should be criticized. How do they expect to succeed in school or work if their verbal skills are that bad?

If it makes even one of them consider improving their skills, and thus their whole life, then it is a good thing....

(But I usually do try to answer their question if I can decipher it.)

I try not to ever put others down. But as it has been said before no one is perfect and that's why Jesus died for the forgiveness of our sins. I am a Christian and that's what I believe. But I do not put people down for not accepting what I believe. I just ask the same in return. And as far as misspelling, it does affect the answers to a question if you can hardly read it. But I try not to give a negative response about a misspelled question.

Secular humanism; knowledge without God produces intellectual barbarians and smarter sinners.

I will admit that mis-spelling drives me crazy, since we all have Spell-Check, but I don't criticize the writer. I just endure.

The Golden Rule no longer matters to this bunch.

I commented on spelling and grammar a couple of times when people posting said horrific things about others. Otherwise, it is not a big thing.
