I have glasses but I wear contacts instead... before I put them on my eyes seem softer, but when I put my contacts on my eyes seem harsher.. the contacts have a blue tint to them. btw these contacts are purely a substitute for glasses, not for changing the colour of my eye etc. lol. what can I do to stop this? help plz? thx

I think you should tell your doctor...
If they bother you they might not fit right, but there are soo many diffrent kind of lenses, i'm sure he can find the right ones for you!

I work for an Opthamology practice, and we fit contacts on a daily basis. I must say this is an interesting question. The way I understand your question....you are satisfied with the fit, and your vision with your contacts...you feel that the contacts make your eyes look different. Yes, contacts have a slight blue tint, very slight, and not enough to be noticable to most people. I have a different way for you to think about this. You say your eyes seem *softer* before you put your contacts in....and they look *harsher* after you put them in.....I think the difference you are noticing is when you put your contacts in...you are now looking in the mirror with corrected vision...you are seeing your image sharper than you see yourself in the mirror without out your corrective lenses. Another thing for you to consider....we are always much more critical of our own self than we are of others...and we tend to exagerate our own image we see in the mirror...example...when I gain 10 pounds, I look in the mirror and my mind focuses on my *problem* areas...I feel like the good year blimp, and feel like everyone who see's me will only see that 10 pounds that I gained. In reality...I am the only one who see's those ten pounds, nobody else notices at all. I am sure that nobody else thinks your eyes look harsher with your contacts, they only see your eyes. Hope this helps! If you still feel there is a problem with your contacts, call the office where you were fitted for your lenses and ask for a recheck.

I'm not sure what you mean by "harsher," but if you mean irritated, I can recommend a type of lens that helped me. It's called Extreme H2O and it doesn't get as dry as other lenses. Ask your doctor...there are several newer types of lensed designed for sensitive eyes.

You will get used to them. My contacts have that blueish tint to them too. It's to see them better just in case they get lost in your eye or something lol. But I would try to wear them more and you should get used to them. If they bother you really bad just take them out wash them and then try to put them back in your eye.
