Are you buying yourself a bottle of wine?

I would go with either a white or a blush

For white, start with a sauvingnon blanc or a fume

A blush or white zin would be good as well.

What is "hyd....". It got cut off, so I don;t know where YOU are

If you are legally old enough then there's no reason you shouldn't buy alcohol. Alcohol is an enabler for most people - it can be fun and sociable for most - but be aware for some it can only mean trouble.

Picking wine is an ok choice in as much as it's not like those horrible fizzypop alcopops drinks that children crave and will help you be able to converse over a meal. WIne is a "Grown ups" drink.

Try a white wine - if you are in the US try something from the US like a californian zinfandel, in the UK go for a decent sauvignon blanc from Australia or South Africa. Aim for something that is fairly expensive for your pocket - money does buy quality.

Don't drink on your own or on an empty stomach - have a friend or two over and share the bottle with some nice, light food.

Well I have never heard about that with the parents buying drinks for there kids as far as I know on that the parents can get charged for serving a minor, for your buddy's I am 2 yrs older then my husband and when he was 20 and I was 22 when we went to the bar sometimes the bars wouldn't even let us in because of his age. As for buying drinks nope she is still a minor you have to be 21. And I do know in Michigan if you get caught giving a minor alcohol each adult gets a fine of $1,000 dollars and jail. So to sad for you friend he is either going to have to go the bar with out his wife or if he chooses her to come then he better watch serving her or just have them have a party at home then she can be there...

Wine, you get in very good store, not in wine shop, if ur from india the only thing you get in a wine shop is Wiskey, not wine. you can get a good red wine bottle from a good super market kind of a thing for a littlle as much as rs1500, it will be sweet with very little alcoholic content, otherwise go for beer, it will cost arround rs45/tin, it will be sour but will be very less alcoholic(depends on what you buy. Dont go for hot drinks, if you ever want to taste them , taste them in some party and forget them. Hot drinks like wiskey are not good for health and they get you addicted which might ruin your life.

If you're old enough/have "I.D." you're set. (it's 21 yrs. old in Utah) listen to what the others said-it can be trouble drinking-be sure to eat a good meal before & after you drink or you'll wish you did, even then, if you don't know when to stop, you may wake up in jail (I did more than once)....

Boones Farm...the choice of the poor drinker. I usually don't see it in the cooler, don't want to waste energy on 2.99 alcohol I guess. This is as low as you are going to see it.
