No.
The 14th amendment was not written to allow illegal aliens to use US born children in this manner.
The fact that so many illegal aliens have anchor babies to fraudulently get social services, and under the mistaken assumption that a US born child will somehow protect them from deportation and forgive the crimes they have commited coming into the USA illegally, living here illegally, etc.... is digusting, immoral, unethical, dishonest, and most of all it makes them horrible parents to use a child for their own gain.
In my opinion the 14th amendment needs to be interpreted in the manner it was written, that children born to foreign nationals on US soil are citizens on the nation of their parent(s) and not just automatically citizens of the USA.
edit: Royal Adam, I don't know what nation you are, or if you are registered on the Cherokee rolls, but you need an education on the First Nations, U.S. tribes.
Hispanics came to this continent from EUROPE.
Mexians are not indigenous to the land which is the USA.
There are no U.S. tribes which have ever been Mexican or aztec or mayan.
Mexican indians are native, indigenous to Mexico, the land south of the existing US/Mex border, not to the land of the USA.
I am First Nations, U.S. native American indian, a tribal elder, and storyteller of my tribe.
Perhaps you should learn the history of the tribes of the USA before you post nonsense on any public forums.

No.
Citizenship should not be a birthright due to location of birth but rather based upon the legal citizenship of the parents.
Most Eurpopen nations do not automatically grant citizenship to a child born in their country, why should we? Especially given the problems we are having..
We will never control illegal immigration unless we remove all incentives for illegal immigrants to enter the country.

No definitely not, They call these kids anchor babies. In California when a woman gets pregnant she is automatically entitled to Medi-Cal for prenatal care. Makes no difference on legal status.
I am retired and had to fight with the system to get Medi-Cal. I live on alot less than these folks .These illegals are costing each tax payer almost $20.000 per year. What don't our citizens understand. Many of the illegals do not pay taxes they work for cash. Why should any illegal who has a baby here automatically be a citizen. Illegal plus Illegal equals Illegal..
Some come here pregnant so they can have the baby..Our border cities are going broke because of it.Thanks for asking.

I think it is unfair a woman that resides in the U.S. illegally can get pregnant so their child can become a U.S. citizen while I am told that I cannot live in my home country with my husband because of a J1 visa restriction. Does not seem fair to me..
I have to live separate from my family, home country and career while another child is added to the immigration list.

Do I believe that they should? No I do not. The parents are in the US illegally, and are solely responsbile for creation of that child. Their illegality and other disregard for US laws should negate the application of the 14th amendment in my opinion. Alas it doesn't.
THe fact that the illegals can purposefully create the child to be born in the US as a way to secure birthright citizenship thanks to a bastadization of the intent of the 14th amendment of the constitution is disturbing.

No, not at all. They are just as illegal as there parents are and to grant them citizenship would be to give them amnesty. They are criminal illegal aliens just as their parents are, even thought the parents made the choice.

Nope.
The 14th Amendment actually doesn't protect "anchor babies."
If the parents are illegal aliens, the baby is an illegal alien.

No, they never should have used the 14th amendment to grant citizenship to illegals. That amendment was written to give citizenship to freed slaves and their children.

Royal Adam, if you were truly "Native American" you wouldn't have made a statement like that. Native Americans believe that the land belongs to no one. Besides, we are talking about modern America, not the Ancient past. My answer to the question is NO

no. the 14th amendment is/was intended for the blacks after the civil war. if the parents are not legal citizens then the children are not. we just have a government the refuse to enforce our laws. bush thinks the Constitution is nothing more then a G-D piece of paper.
