I bought a German TV 9 months ago, with a 3 year warrenty, it just developed a small problem but would need the back removing to sort out.
If I did this minor repair the warrenty would be invalid.
I called the manufactuerer .
" OK Sir no problem , we will collect and repair and return to you within 7 days"
The set was collected almost immediatly, very efficent, and its now on the way to Germany, I asked the pick up guy how much was this going to cost the manufacturer. UK to Germany 19kgs about £200 return!!!!
Where is the sense in that???
No I dont have to pay anything, the set cost me £500 9 months ago.

I'm not at all worried, (it will cost me nothing) I was just looking for a reason that makes sense.

'ross m' the make is TARGA, and I agree the after care service is great.
If thishad been a UK TV I would have spent an hour talking to a computer which only spoke in Pundjabi, and likely never ever got a repair.

The Germans are very efficient, I doubt they are losing anything. They will have a deal going with a delivery firm to lessen the costs. Can you tell us the make as good customer service goes a long way in this disorganised pit of a country.

That is ludicrous, if you have already paid shipping in the first place when you purchased the TV, and it has developed a fault which is not down to you, part of the warranty should state that delivery costs will be covered by the company, or you will be refunded at least.
If there is any sense in the world that is...

It sound sound crazy
but the factory needs to check it as it seems its a manufacturing fault.
They can afford it as its all included in the price you pay for buying new items.

This is to do with the carriers, unfortunately.
Most carriers will not cover any glass or any product containing glass for damage in transit.
Consequently, the few that will offer D.I.T cover for glass, charge the earth to do so...
