What is your opinion on how women were treated way back when? How does it make you feel?

"In his book titled 'History of Ethics of Europe, Liki says that people used to escape women's shadows and deem sinful to approach or meet them.

They also believed that to meet by chance in the way or talk to any woman, including mothers, wives, or sisters, abort righteous deeds and spiritual efforts. Thus, the Western society used to underestimate women.

In 586 A.D., a conference was held in France to decide whether woman is human being or not!

After discussions, they decided that woman is human being that is created for serving man!

In England, Henry VIII deemed unlawful for women to recite the Holy Scriptures. Until 1850 A.D., women were not regarded as citizens, and until 1882, they had no personal rights and had no right to possess anything.

Hence, women were dissolved in the personalities of their fathers or husbands. 487"

Were women NOT created by the Creator?!? Isn't EVERYTHING that was made by the Creator worth respect and honor, if only because they are a creation of the Divine?!?

Yes, there are some debase people out there that desparately NEED to demean others, for them its the only way that they can FEEL superior.

History also saw people enslaved and demeaned, solely upon the color of their skin. Just cuz it was done in the past, does it make it 'right'?

As far as your comments concerning edicts in a 586 CE French coucil, the ONLY references I was able to find on a lengthy internet search were from muslim sites. NOTHING in any of the catholic histories?!? It is interesting that an islam site would be validating their beliefs based upon 'corrupted christian edicts"?!?

It is interesting that you are saying that women were only deemed to be human following this council and only to be serving men in LIGHT of other council edicts prior. A little known statement of the Council of Chalcedon in 451 A.D. was Canon #15 (1): No woman under 40 years of age is to be ordained a deacon, and then only after close scrutiny. The Deacon at the time could preform marriages, baptisms, and preform funeral rights.

One should also note that many of the early laws/attitudes concerning woman and religion in early christiandom were enacted as a backlash to the power of women in many of the early pagani traditions.

Of course and I believe that many women were very strong, responsible as a being a good wife, mother, daughter, sister and a teacher was teach to their children how to discipline, respect to the elders, being humble and a God fearing. She has a many determinations of her life and she was showing of love, affection and caring to her children and she does to do it the household chores, she was being a working mom to helping of their husbands to provide in the some things that they needed like paying the utilities, tuition fee for their children in the school and a lot more and What if there's a man and of course there's a women and this is an important having a woman and who's to taking care of her husband and children, who's to do it the chores there and what if we will having a child and of course a women and I know that some men that they cannot live without their women of their lives and that God is very created to having a women of our lives and we will must be to accept it of what we will have it and we will must be a contented of our lives

mmm. You better not say that to your Mom!
From what I understand about the Islamic culture, your views come from that belief system. But, NO, women are NOT sub-human! Indira Ghandi? Is SHE sub-human? Queen ESTHER? Is SHE sub-human? Was Mother MARY sub-human? I think NOT!

In FACT, JESUS said of the whole human race, "Whoever follows Me, are my Mother, Sister, and brother."

Matthew 12:50
For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

God had a greatest mercy on Adam. Just imagine what a trashy life he would have without Eve and where would be all of us. Those who are in Christ have no distinctions between men and women. Not everybody can understand it, to great sorry.

Heres a christian veiw and arguement, they say there is a chain of command in everything, so if it goes God, jesus, man, women and then children, does that mean that jesus is less then God because he come second, no he is just as important as God, but he comes under God, in the chanin of command, so the same for women, just because she comes after man does not make her inferior because she follows under the headship of man, then we would have to say that both Jesus and women are inferior and no one would do that, so you can't say that about anyone who comes under someone, you would have to say your children are animals, or less then anything, since they come last and no one wants to do that since our children take over after we leave this earth. History has shown that man does not understand the concept of headship, but Paul did in the Bible, he was the first to allow women to go to church, to get and education and to be in leadership positions in his church.

i think it's scandalous. but at the same time, you can't deny that there is ample scriptural support for misogyny (in the bible at least, i don't know so much about the quran but i don't suppose it's too different).

that's rhetoric of course. i'm sure you'll take the opportunity to deny it.
