The litter of puppies are 6 weeks old & they were wormed 2 days ago. 2 of the puppies still have large stomachs & I think the worms have not passed through.Any ideas on what to do now?
I remember a vet once said give them something at time of worming like liquid paraffin. Can't be sure it was that though.

They are not my puppies & have been to see them & it turns out they were under dosed by 1 ml of wormer.Gave them 2 ml of liquid paraffin for now & will give them the rest of the wormer dose in 2 days. Thanks for the info.

I would just give them a little canned puppy food with a teaspoon of mineral oil,and then reworm them in a few days.If you used Nemex ( pyrantel pamoate) it is very, very safe, and it won't harm the pups to repeat the dosage that soon.If it is piperazine, don't use it again,it can cause stomach bloating and intestinal blockages,my vet just told me this a few weeks ago.I have a kitten that I found with the same problem,I wormed her but her belly was still bloated,so my vet said to go ahead and worm her again;this was about 5 days later.I did and she is doing great now. Her belly isn't bloated anymore and she is putting on real weight. I used the Nemex and it's not even approved for cats, but my vet has been using it for them for years and so have I and a lot of other people I know. Oh,and you need to worm the mama dog,too or she will just give them back to the puppies.

I'd set up a veterinarian and take a stool sample int and ensure the tapeworms are the only parasites she has. There is no dewormer that will get all worms. There maybe a dewormer that you can get on the pet store that may work on tapeworms, not certain. To economize, get an exam to ensure you are treating for the right situation and now not guessing. As for the gas, what does your puppy devour??? If it can be puppy chow, i have understood that can rationale some gasoline. Purina is an efficient meals, but if you're feeding dog chow i'd upgrade to at the least Purina One. Except the parasites are causing the situation. Rather than that wouldn't understand. Waiting until Friday for vaccinations is just not too lengthy seeing that she is having this main issue right now. So far as the whining goes she maybe uncomfortable due to the fuel, the diarrhea or the parasites themselves. Having her examined by using a veterinarian may give you a better idea of why she is having these problems. Hope this helps. Excellent success

Please call you vet for advice on this one. You don't want to kill these pups by experimenting on them. Wormer is a form of poison so re-dosing them this soon is not healthy.
