hey guys! im so sick of this.. i love my mum, no doubt about that.. but lately she's taken up a habit of looking for any thing in my room for any reason or any way just to yell at me.. so i hide my marks sometimes because they're bad and i dont want to show her YET but okay. but thats not it! she leaves my room in a mess! and i have afternoon class which means she finishes work early which seems to give her 2 extra hours to do what she does.. i come home to a fuming mother and a messy room and we end up arguing! i hate it!! how can iget her to stop??

I think you should do what I did ... get a lock for your door. I got this huge padlock and drilled it to my wall and locked my door, my mom was mad but I told her that its my way of claiming my space and if you cant do that you should just go to her room and mess everything up too.

I had to deal with something similar growing up, my mom would go through my stuff too, mostly looking for bad marks. I often felt violated by the snooping. Whenever I made a comment about privacy, I was told "Boys don't need privacy." If there is something you want to hide, perphaps you need to find a better place to hide it.

You and your mom have a communication problem. She is worried about your poor grades, and is trying to find out if there is anything else going on, so she is snooping. You need to be honest with her, and have a long talk. Let her know what is really going on. But also ask her to respect your privacy.

Tell her the truth. Tell her that you don't want her to snoop in your room. Tell her that this is my room, my private place. In exchange, tell her about your marks. I know that she may scream at you or even get grounded but at least you won't have bad relationship with your mother. I mean she's your mother. You won't have any other mother.

She is your mother and she has a job to do. If you are hiding things from her she has every right ( In fact she should)to snoop.
