I Can Grow Trees in a mixed native woodland around my house. Can you Grow Concrete, Plastics, Steel, Stone, Insulation Materials etc for all your needs?

Why is using concrete, plastics, steel stone etc better than producing and using your own timber?

Straw gets you a long way down the track without having to wait for trees. Strawbales... it's a lil old fashioned for sure but desperate times require desperate measures... and well... you can grow your own house in a season.

I am not sure what your point is. Have you ever been to a city ? There are millions of structures that reach to the heavens. Sure I can plant a tree and build a home, an appartment building an office but these structures are 5, 10, 50, a 100 stories. Sorry, but the tree just isn't going to make it.

I do agree that life used to be simpler. It is sad, but today parent's are protective because they have to be. Seat belts? Now we have more cars on the road and speed limits have changed, making crashes more fatal. Children can't play outside alone anymore? Now it seems we are living in a world where there is news of a child abduction almost every day! We have even created the Amber Alert system because abductions are so common. I agree that kids don't play outside anymore, and that is a result from TV and video games. I wish life was as simple as it used to be and the world was not so crazy. Times sure have changed huh?

and thatching grass is also valuable

Eucalyptus makes great straight poles
and reproduces quickly at the roots

Poplar make light roof beams

Permaculture supports growing your own building material
