69 miles per Google Earth. At 2.5 miles per hour, a slow walk comfortable for a pregnant woman, 28 hours or about 3 days.
Of course, if you are being accurate, you will set it in the summer because no one would call a census in winter time (Dec. 25th being set to kill off pagan winter solstice holidays) and if you refer to dates, you wil put it earlier than 4 BC when Pontius Pilot died.

it would probably be more than those 69 miles which are the quickest line... they probably would have gone through the jordan vaelly and jericho rather than through samaria.
it would however be doable in about 4 days. for people to walk about 40 km (25 m) a day was not unheard of.
