List your religious/non-religious affiliation and why you like or dislike the movie/album/play.

(For Christians, please list your specific denomination. I'm curious as to which denominations and/or belief systems tend to like the movie and which ones tend to dislike it.)

If you haven't seen/heard it, you should go to YouTube and look it up. Someone's posted the whole thing...

As for me, I'm a Catholic and I love the movie. (It's from Judas' POV so any weirdness is attributed to that. Well, that and hippies anyway, lol.)

As for "A Clockwork Orange" (I've read the book and seen the movie.) it was written by a Catholic and is not in the least bit anti religion. It's about sin, and how the government doesn't have the power to punish or brainwash it out of a person. In the end (the final chapter that was cut out of the movie and the American version of the book) the character chooses to be good of his own free will.

Catholic and dislike it. Mainly the Jesus as hippie thing, because it is something I connect with relativism. Also, the stupidity started with "Holy Blood, Holy Grail" is shown in the depiction of Mary Magdalene.

Anything that perpetuates the insanity called theism in any of it's myriad forms can only be considered dastardly.

I prefer the movie "A Clockwork Orange" politics are not as easy to make fun of as religion, but Stanly Kubrick does a wonderful job of interpreting the classic Anthony Burgess novel. He also sarcastically critiques UK politics and society fairly.

Where JCST doesn't criticize Christianity nearly enough.

I love it! Have the soundtrack to it and Godspell, and have both on DVD. The only thing I don't like is neither one touch on the Resurrection, which is the best part of the story.
I've even used Godspell with our preteen group. We'll watch a section and then head to the Gospels to find it and see how well it matched and discuss what it's trying to teach us.
