Why do you think *some* people are hostile or defensive or whatever when discussing religion. Do you think it's because of the different implications/beliefs in the afterlife and/or eternity? Why do you think some people are condescending about it?

Loaded question, I know.

Yes, and no.
What you believe about an afterlife, and the meeting there of a judging deity, will affect your values and your interaction with other people, to a greater or lesser extent.

But what you believe about an afterlife won't affect what happens. It won't be: "Christians go to heaven, Buddhists and Hindus reincarnate, atheists just cease to be."
They can't all be right, no matter how sincerely each holds their belief.
So choosing correctly is an issue of some importance, which in part explains the seriousness of the debates.

But not many people hold a belief they think is untrue..
(but allow for comformity with peer-pressure)
So, if you think you are correct about this fundamental issue it is a temptation to have some sort of non-neutral attitude to those who hold different views.
Anything from pity and sadness to revulsion and hatred.

It's a skill not to taint discussion of different beliefs (and which are in error), with assigning failure of intelligence or moral deficit to those who believe differently from you.

What I in my view think is a effect of my possess publicity to many unique ideals , something reports I've had, and my possess judgment. I will have to point out I had a center assault, with an after loss of life enjoy. Everything we see, adding ourselves, originated from the identical fabric. The fabric that created our whole Universe. We have been born of celebrity grime. God is all over. He favors order. He favors goodness.Nothing within the universe real disappears, it's continuously converted. We are fabric beings right here, but all of us have a spirit inside the frame. When we die, the spirit is going as much as Heaven. I think Heaven is a transitority resting situation. A excursion spot of types. Eventually we're born once more on the planet, and the cycle repeats itself. Wouldn't or not it's horrible if we might now not die? The easiest approach of claiming that is: we paintings on the planet, excursion in Heaven, then paintings on the planet once more. We are anticipated to make use of well judgment right here, to regard others with recognize, not to be imply or egocentric. Birth is ordinary, Death is ordinary, but handiest whilst God has observed our time has come. I desire this comforts you. I'm conscious my individual notion is off the charts, but it is smart to me. Throughout nature, loss of life follows start, but additionally, start follows loss of life. Eleanor Roosevelt as soon as remarked "If we will be able to be born as soon as, what is so unusual approximately it going down once more?"

I think it boils down to some people's insecurity of where they will wind up and wondering if hell/heaven are real.

For me, theres so much in life to just walking and living for Jesus that heaven is a bonus in the end.
