Ok, I like this girl, and I know I don't want to ask her out yet because I barely know her. Any tips on how to know her better?

Also, my friend Patrick asked a girl out at a party, and got completely and totally rejected. He kind of just stood there and looked dumb: but what can you say after that?

It depends on when and where you have met her...if you are in the same class, it is a no-brainer, just ask to be her study partner.
If at a party, look for little clues about her based on the way she dresses (does she dress pretty, goth, punk, casual,etc.) or smells...you may want to visit a cosmetics counter in a local store and get to know all women's perfumes...if you are able to hone in on her perfume by smell, it is a conversation starting point.
A guy I knew that was able to get a lot of dates was he was able to identify a woman's perfume by just standing near her...it helped that he had 5 sisters and all had drug him to the perfume counters and tried scents out on him, which made for a very cute story.
Find your cute, likeable story.

First question first. To get to know a person better you must first gather the confidence to approach her. Second, Befriend her. If you start off as friends you will soon know each other. Next spend some time with her. Just show her that you mean no harm that's all.
About your second Question: I pity your friend but you should have said the reason why the girl rejected her. He might be arrogant when he asked her or maybe the girl is just not interested with him. Sorry but that can be the reasons why she rejected him. Anyway, he should have not take it in that seriously except if he really like that girl. He just made himself more embarrassing. As a friend you should support him and help him forget about that incident. Hope that help. God bless

That's why you NEVER ask anyone out because that gives them the right to say "NO".........
You just tell them your going somewhere and if they wanna come out and have some fun that would be great...whatever you do don't ASK...
SO, if she doesn't come, it doesn't matter because you were going to be there anyways right, and if she does GREAT!!!!!!
Seriously, that's what I would do...
Since you want to talk to this girl you can tell her about your plans and if she shows up then you have a great time but if she doesn't.....that's okay because you already had plans to be there so have FUN anyways...don't depend on her showing up....
This way you will NEVER look DUMB.....

Step One: Accidently bump into her
Step Two: Say hi and smile
Stepp three: say wanna hang out sum time
Step 4: if yeha get rejected say oh well..thats to bad..if you get a yes,,say ok great ill call you and give her yor number or w/e

Your buddy should have said "Hey, it never hurts to ask" or if she was really mean to him, he could have said "Thank you- I'm glad that won't ever be an issue!"
As far as you- just ask her if she'd lie to hang out with you. Tell her she seems like a neat person that you'd like to get to know better.

Hey, first you have to talk to her you know like introduce yourself, and chat. Then you just kinda talk a lot more and you try to be friends. When she warms up to you, then you can safely ask her out. If she says no, you can still be friends, and she wont think your a total loser, and hate you.
And to your friend, well just tell him to apolgize and try to be friends, then mabye ask her out later.

do group things and have her invited....
you get to know a person alot better by how they react around friends.then you take some time to talk to just her...
by a week ull know if u want something more from her...
