Don't know what an athiest is, but ATHEISTS get along better with pagans because I have yet to be threatened with hell, physical harm, burning at the stake, or death by a pagan. And I've had all of the above from so-called "loving Christians."

Pagans don't criticize Atheists for not believing so Atheists tend to like them better than people of religions that proselytize. Pagans, in general, try to get along with everyone.

Because Pagans don't try to convert Atheists. Also, Pagans usually respect science.

You mean atheists, don't you?
Well, for one thing, Pagans do not go around telling atheists, "You have to believe my gods if not you go to hell" or "I am trying to save you, therefore I tell you about my god and you must believe, or you will be separated from him and ..... wel.... you know .... go to hell" or things to that effect.
Atheists do not go around telling the pagans "You are stupid to believe in all this fairy tales" largely because atheists are minding their business until so theists, like christians, pop in and insisted in their way.
Most pagans and wiccans I met are pretty fun loving people who are largely open minded and can accept new ideas.

Because they are peaceful about their beliefs, and open-minded. They look at everything as a possibility, and don't threaten me with eternal torment if I don't agree with them.
That is why this atheist 'gets along' with pagans.

I get along with anyone who accepts me for who I am , be they Christian, atheist, pagan, etc.
I have never met a closed-minded, intolerant pagan. I am sure they exist, but I'd imagine their numbers are few.

They're nice people.
It rather demonstrates the absence of a Pagan agenda or an atheist agenda.

I don't mind it that Atheists don't believe in God, since I am not arrogant enough to think that only my spiritual beliefs could be right. I don't try to convince Atheists that they are wrong nor do I threaten them with eternal torture in the effort to force them to believe in something that makes no since to them.
If an Atheist tells me that they think I am wrong, I just say "Maybe you're right, but since it makes me happy to believe, I think I'll just keep on believing. Is that cool?" If it isn't cool with them, then it is a sign that he/she isn't just an Atheist but is probably also an Anti-Theist. An Anti-Theist is an Atheist who is strongly against a particular religion or religions, or who is against all religions in general. I don't hang around Anti-Theists, since they are almost as scary as Fundie Christians.

It seems that we annoy atheists less than Christians for some reason.Pagans prefer atheists as they don't tell us we're going to burn in hell.
