Minimum wage just got raised. Right now the Federal standard is $5.85 and it goes up to $6.55 in 2008.

Are they withholding taxes from your checks?
If not, $5 is worth it.
If they ARE withholding taxes, that will eat up a lot of your money and you need a raise.
Do you have any idea what they are paying the other workers?
I know that it is tough dealing with family, but you need to pull them to one side, in private, and ask them nicely for a pay raise. Start by asking what they think of the job you are doing for them, and what improvements they would suggest... it would even be better to be able to point out some of your accomplishments... then ask for a pay raise.
"I have checked around and I think that for what I do here, I should be getting paid $X.xx per hour. Can you do that?"

The next thing would be to check around for another job.
Even a sacker/stocker at a grocery store gets at least $8 an hour, and some join unions.

Dude you are screwed! Find a job where you matter. Not at the family store. You will get no respect there no matter how good you are. The problem there is that they love you...

well, if your doing good in that work, then ask your grandparents for an increase but with some condition like you'll do good in school especially your grades, and doing nicest things for them........I'm sure your grandparents would be proud of you.......

Tell them you need a raise and be better than an OK worker.
