My husband is. He works long hours but likes the challenge of taxes (especially business and estate work) and doing estate and trust planning and small business planning. Bookkeeping and payroll drive him nuts - he has staff to do that work, but finding competent people to do that work is difficult and he spends more time than he would like supervising people.

I have a BA in accounting in 1972 and I do enjoy my job. I find it fascinating how some people do their books and can't wait to find their errors. Using my many years of experience, there is never really a down time. Also, you make your job the way you want it. If you want it to be enjoyable, do so. Exciting, what's holding you back? It's like anything in life - you make it what it is.
