Not earlier than a week all the way to the day of. At your age...it really doesn't matter but you don't want to come across desperate and ask like a month before. She'll likely forget unless it's the senior prom or something very formal. Then ask well in advance.

Lol. I have no idea what to tell you. I just got asked to prom and school hasn't even started yet. I think a week or two is good. It depends. Is it a formal/semi formal dance or like a friday night-come in casual clothes-hosted by cheerleaders dance?

If your school puts flyers up for upcoming events, you should probably ask when they put the flyers on the bulletin boards.
If they don't, then look in your agenda and see when the dance is...About 1-2 weeks is good.

two weeks unless you find out later than that. Never ask another girl after being refused or she cancels. That is insulting. Go with a friend instead then.

You should ask her a couple of weeks in advance just incase she has other people trying to ask her!! Its better to be first than last!!

,i would say 2-3 weeks, but the ladies know best.
since a lady will be the object of your interest you should listen to the advice of the ladies.
