I think it amounts to availability. Women 35+ are usually already settled in to a husband, family, etc. So if a guy finds himself single in his 30's, the "pickin's are slim" so to speak. I think guys that age would like to have sex with younger women, but a realistic guy knows that a more mature woman is what he really needs (and probably better in bed as well)! To me, the more feminine a woman is, the better. For example, a woman who genuinely likes to be taken care of by her man is better than a woman who wants her financial independence/seperateness. A woman who likes to cuddle on the couch and watch a chick flick is better than a woman who wants to sit in a lazy boy with a beer and watch NASCAR. Get my drift? Byy the way, I'd take a hot 35 year- old over a hot 20 year- old ANY DAY!

I'm 36...so I have to admit that I do
check out women 21 - 45. Because I'm actually starting to believe that maybe "Age is just a number" when it comes to love. I've been hearing about some couples have partners like 15 ...even 20 years apart.
Really with me....a woman's attitude & heart is everything.
If a woman has a nasty, bitter or bad attitude...I walk away fast because I know some who have it in my own life.
I'm going by real experience here...not my opinion at all.
Good luck

I have long since realized that few men ever date a woman who doesn't want to go out with me. An older man will make himself available by simply saying "hello" or introduce themselves and chat for a few. If the conversation takes on a serious note and the woman is looking around, it was all a waste of time on my part.
The question should be reversed. What type of male do you check out and how old would be too old to date giving your age?
I have dated women in many an age group and if the chemistry wasn't there...well' it simply wasn't there... and I politely escorted her to her door and simply said...goodnight.

We all have our favourite 'types'. It is amazing how many women look after themselves and look quite hot after 35. No surgery, they work out etc. What can be off putting is that even at 35+ they still can be insecure about how they look. If they have the insecurity might as well 'do' the 20 something woman.

Speaking as a man who just turned 37. I tend to like a woman who is between 30-40 years old. Someone who is close to my age and will have more in common with me than a woman in her 20's.
I will admit that women in the 18-25 year old rand are nice to look at, but my wants, needs and desires are different than theirs. I might date a woman who is 27,28, or 29, but I have to cut it off at 25. Even at 25 she would have to seriously impress me to want to spend more than a night in the sack with.
I usually have a rule of thumb. If she is young enough to be a daughter or old enough to be my mom, then forget it.

To 85% of all guys, women reach their peak of physical attractiveness between the ages of 15 and 24. 10-15% of us like --or even prefer-- women in the 25-55 range, where most women reach their peak of sexual skill and responsiveness. ( The small remaining percentage are sick, into undeveloped girls, boys or something else. )
It's a matter of individual preference as well as emotional maturity. A guy's preference does not change much as he himself gets older. I always preferred slightly older women, and always have.
Guys reach their peak of sexual drive before the age of 20 and we generally imprint those urges with images of girls in our own age group. Thus, physically and on a very primal level, though, most of us are always going to be mainly attracted to tight, healthy and fertile looking girls.
Guys tend to develop greater appreciation for women of wisdom when they start looking for a life partner to settle down with. As guys emotionally mature, they also feel less threatened and more comfortable with a woman who can bring some sexual experience and worldly savvy to a relationship.
There may be some truth to the notion that guys in their 40's and 50's begin to feel their age and sometimes try to recapture their youth by dating Spring chickens. If so, it's often simply because THEY CAN. Younger women often show them appreciation that they are hungry for, and which women their own age often forget.
A lot of guys are frustrated by girls their own age when they are in their teens and early 20s, because those girls are going after older guys; Thus, when a guy in his late 20s or older goes after a younger chick, it is often at least partly for the satisfaction of "getting even".

Okay, my best friend was 30 when we met, and I turned 46 the next week. We're still 'best friends' but we've been married for nearly 11 years now ... so no, ALL guys don't look 'only' at 'much younger' women ... some of them 'discover' that an older one is 'his one and only one.' Hang in there and don't give up hope ... but don't 'go looking' either. Be a good friend, and maybe you'll marry your 'best friend' too.

I think most men this age wish they could go back in time. Most women in this age range are tired from rising kids. And a young 20 year old is easy to impress.
Good luck.

women in their 20's are seriously screwed up. Did you know that one was asking me if I had tattoos, or my d ick pierced. Those are the key things a woman in her 20's thinks about these days.
