can anyone say 'rant'?
Why should you be offended by those who disrespect Jesus, when he himself said that the ridiculers would be here in the time of the end?
Do you not have faith?

Maybe you're talking about me. I don't bash him... because he doesn't exist. Anyways, nothing is wrong with loving Jesus. I'm all for that. I prefer people to be Christians because they tend to be better people. Religion can bring out the best in people...and the worst for that matter. But really...you sound quite pathetic--- "I pity anyone who is a retard". Sorry. At least I didn't bash your God though.

The old "bait and switch." Start with an innocent question that might actually get some compassionate and sympathetic answers, and then switch to a disingenuous and hostile rant. How very sweet and Christian of you.

I'll give you a sincere answer anyway. No, there is nothing wrong with loving Jesus. As a non-Christian (Buddhist) I have great respect for how he lived his life and what he taught. Great teacher, beautiful spirituality, and a consistent message of love. Why wouldn't you love someone like that?

First of all, where is your Christian love and tolerance? Calling non-Christians "retard" is very un-Christian of you.

Second of all, I think most people who "bash Jesus" are just very, very tired of all the crap that many of the more extreme Christians (especially Born agains) make us put up with. I am sick of being approached at home, on the street, at the park, at the store, at the freakin car wash, while trick or treating with my children... I have my own beliefs and they are just as valid as yours. I am especially frustrated with the way these extreme "Christians" try to curropt politics and turn our country into something it was never intended to be.

My advice? Start leaving non-Christians alone, and encourage your Christian friends to do the same. Maybe our perceptions of you and your religion will change.

I I find it rather humorous that you chose to use the words "retard" and "God" in the same breath....

Nothing is wrong with loving Jesus. However, I think Jesus would have serious issues with you calling people names simply because they do not believe. WWJD, and all that...

I dont blame people who bash god, but I do when they bash jesus. He died for us and suffered so much, god is the one who made his own son suffer because some people werent worshipping him the right way and hes the one who wants us to believe in him or go to hell.

Jesus, if he existed, died 2000 years ago. He no more died for me than did any other poor wretch crucified by the Roman government during that period.

However, many of his followers have (up to this day) killed, oppressed, maimed, enslaved, imprisoned, excommunicated, fined, and humiliated those who raise questions about the credibility of their mythology.

The Christian theology is so nonsensical, if it hadn't taken root in a less enlightened era, it would be relegated to the heap of rejected religions of history. However, it proved effective in keeping a resource-rich area of the world socially stable, and thus spread like a virulent disease around the globe. The Christian church owes much more to Constantine than to Christ for its success.

I'm an atheist and I think that there is nothing wrong if you want to "love Jesus".

What you may be referring are reactions to some who insist that to not follow your belief makes all others deficient in ethics and morality .

Isn't he sort of dead?

Regarding a question Jesus' disciples asked about the prophets...

Jesus said to them, "You have disregarded the living one who is in your presence, and have spoken of the dead."

Do you see the great wisdom here? It's far superior to your Roman dogma.

Also, according to *your* version he died for *you*, but according to the gnostic version he didn't die for anyone because there was no need for that.

Nothing wrong with loving Jesus - just don't expect me to appreciate your efforts at legislating ways for me to love him.
