What do you think they though life would be like when they didnt know anything about electricity. Well they figured that out and it improved life. Is global warming just another speed bump to be solved by a smart person or will it be harder than that?

it is not even a bump...it is more like a hiccup. and it is not a problem that even the smartest human can solve since humans are in no way responsible for climate change in the first place. all we can do is ride it out the best we can and with smart humans creating new technologies, like air conditioning for example, or electric heaters, we can overcome almost any climate change situation.

Its a large problem that needs every-ones help. Too many think that it can be solved by some smart person. But this time its such a big issue that we all have to do our part. I use public transit now, changed all the light bulbs to efficient bulbs, unplug all chargers, have a 8 gallon tank toilet ( was 22) .I live in a 19 story high rise, everyone throws out the thrash down a chute, plastics, glass in another bin, newspaper other bin. I Stopped Don't purchasing plastic bottled water. Have my own reusable / washable bottle filled with my own filtered water. One person cannot stop it we all created this mess. A bump in the road? Living under a rock ?

If it's a speed bump on the road of life then it's a mighty big one and so far we haven't figured out a way to get over it.

There are potential ways and means of resolving global warming that scientists are currently investigating. None of these shemes will be implemented in the short term and all of them need very careful consideration before being launched - meddling with the climate isn't something we can afford to get wrong.

No. So called global warming is just a natural occurrence. The earth will cool down on it's own.

I think the vast volume of our atmosphere is inappropriately compared to a bump. if we lost electricity we would only revert to 1800 but with diesle engines and glow-sticks...it would actually be awsome if people weren't addicted to tv and computers...we shouldn't try to alter our air in any way...because we dont know what kind of long term effects it will have.

It's a problem but one that I'm confident we can solve.

We'll need to switch our electricity production over to something other than fossil fuels, nuclear fission looks most likely right now (it happens to be the only thing we have that can do the job).

Replacing oil for transportation will also be necessary but I don't think we know what'll take over from oil now.

Fixing the damage we've already done might also be a good idea, not sure what we'll do about it but I'm sure we'll think of something (people have proposed possible solutions).

Well when less than half the scientific papers written about global climate in the last 10 years, thought there was a problam with global warming.

Whats the big deal ?

Yes, thats right, less than half the papers written, say global warming is a problem, the majority say its not.

global warming is a natural cycle and not caused by man. It will end and then go through a cooling and back to a warming again like the earth has for millions of years.
