I wish the state would have a lie detector for all the freaks who teach, and end up finding out they are bios, prejudice, and racist. Each child is this to the school districts and teachers $$$, dont give me this you dont get paid enough. People wake up teachers dont like their job. They should have went into a field they werent going to reagret. A teacher could eat in class, say dumb things to children and get away with it, get on the internet and goof off, the tough of who they are is creepy. So we need more people to help get these people to understand that they are with our children and we dont appreciate them helping bring down their self esteem, or scarr them mentaly for life. I advice everyone to seek pre-paid legal servicess and start taking legal actions to put these criminals behind bars...So who will help? Thats the question?

Dianne are you full of hot air, no it's not, tax payers money! And the State pays millions, billions a year for our children to have an education for tomorrow. The schools get thousands for each child. If your not a bad teacher then why worry about it? Im talking about the messed up one who hate their job or our children!

Michelle, thank you for your honesty. Thank you, my son was treated like he had mental issues when he was abused on school campus grounds, and now my daughter is getting treated as if she is ignorant. These teachers gossip, eat in front of our children, why if they cant do it in class? I tried private school's they are worse if you ask me, money wise. So the question is why cant they get it. Our children are our tomorrow. What I see is danger!!!

As a teacher, I agree and disagree with you on several issues. 1st, I could never put a money value on a child- they are to precious. School districts have to have money to operate, and the building I teach out of is 50 years old with major updates needed. 2nd getting paid enough, it varies by state, I have masters degree, after taxes, yes teachers pay them also, health insurance, retirement and my standard dedecution, I "cleared $21,000. So please do not tell me I'm OVERPAID. I love my job, but it is very challenging. A know schools have different policies: but where I teach, we are not allowed to eat or drink anything in front of children, our principal does 3 unannounced "drop-ins" a week, so playing on internet would be very unwise. I respect these rules at my school because I am there to teach and as a professional, should be held responsible. As far as saying dumb things and bringing down self-esteem, children learn by what they see. I am extra careful of my tone, comments, and attitude for the very reasons you mentioned. My main rule is we treat everyone with respect and kindness- that is to make sure prejudices and racist remarks and attitudes are shown they are unaccepted in my classroom and school.
However, I have taught in another distrist where teachers could eat/drink in front of kids, really had no enforced authority, a true professional, one that's there for kids, shouldn't have to have someone checking up on them, but I think it's a good idea. Like I said, at other district alot went on,teachers on internet, that was wrong. That is main reason I changed to different school. I guess my point is, please don't think all teachers do not care about education. Most do, the ones that don't, I agree with you, they do not need be teachers.

I wouldn't say there money hungry, they get less then 33% of the funding (well in Australia), and charge up to 1000% more then a public school, don't see the fairness in this. And there are many teachers that enjoy their job, my year 11&12 math teacher did.

i am not a freak.........i am an educator. if you would like to be taken seriously, get yourself back into elementary school and learn to write english......you cannot disparage an institution that you know nothing of.

i know i didn't capitalize.
it's intentional

bytheway. i do not complain about my salary or hours. yes, schools are money hungry, especially affluent ones. i work for a title 1 school, we have plenty of your tax dollars. i love my job, i eat in class and goof around on the internet at recess. their recess is my recess, i may do as i wish. guess what darlin'? i nap at lunchtime. i have a sofa.
