For the past few months I have slowly built up to running 5 miles about 3 times per week. I have found that my appetite is increasing. Is this normal? I'm a normal weight, and in fact my clothes feel a bit looser than before even though my weight has stayed about the same.

I just worry about my appetite increasing and eventually leading to weight gain, since I know that exercise doesn't burn as many calories as we wish it would.

Does running normally increase one's appetite?

By increasing your exercise your body is burning more calories so has increased your appetite to provide the energy it needs.

Aslong as you keep the extra food you eat healthy you'll be fine.
