Or perhaps revoke their citizenship then ship them to Mexico? I don't know what to do with this one. Many illegal women have kids sprinkled on both sides of the border, hedging their bets with human lives used like poker chips. They are treating "That Illegal" who is guilty of social security fraud like a celebrity in Mexico. This should spur us to ACT. A constitutional amendment is necessary. Then, a slow, steady clean up. She should have done jail time on the SS thing. Perhaps she might have helped build the wall as restitution.

Well, my thoughts, she's abandoned her child. Any other citizen that does this would have their child placed in the foster care system. So, place the child in foster care and then adopt them out if the parents don't try to reclaim them in a sufficient period of time. That will deter them from leaving their children if they love their children. So, they have two options: one, take the child with them; two, leave your child here and have the authorities take posession of the child and face losing the child to adoption.

If they are American citizens, then they can come back when they're 18, no problem.

____
Amanda, how can it be temporary if the mother cannot re-enter the U.S. to reclaim the child? And what kind of mother uses her child as leverage, hurting them badly in the process emotionally, to get her way?

I don't know, but, if the parent is already in Mexico, what exactly would you have our government do? Walk into Tijuana and set a child on the sidewalk? An 18 month old or an 8 year old- just set them down on the sidewalk and walk away?

Really?

And, an American citizen has the right to be here. Period. Citizen = right to be here.

*Edit- Lydia- She has not "abandoned" her child. She signed over temporary placement (Which is perfectly legal) to the pastor of the church and his wife. This is a legal document. "Abandonment" applies when a child has a reasonable expectation that the parent would be a caregiver. Signing temporary placement (Which isn't that rare), guarantees that child to stay with the selected guardians, unless they were accused or convicted of neglect or abuse, or if they are unable or unwilling to fulfill their obligations###

LYdia #2- It is considered "temporary", but, has no time limit. It is permanent in the respect that it DOES NOT expire. Until the child is 18, it is permanent. Period. Legal. And, Lydia, I don't disagree with you AT ALL that she is a crappy mom. If you would like to look through any posts of mine, I agree with you. She sucks as a mom, but, the documentation in this case is solid. It is "temporary" so that if she were legalized she can obtain custody. It is the way that placement orders are written.

No. What kind of country deports citizens or revokes citizens because they are linked to a group that some people don't like??
That is an insult to decency and justice.

Elvira Arellano did not dump her son. He is a child who has special needs and American friends of hers are his legal guardians and care for him in the US. That is between her and them and her son and that is their own business.

why allow these people to go back to a country that is failing, why not let them stay here and make something of themselves? why not allow them to have what we have? why not let them have the shitty job, the jobs we dont want to do. they are not taking jobs from us, they are not taking homes from us, they are not doing anything that we wouldnt do? How mexicans do you see at home kicking back. now think of how many mexicans you see on the streets selling flowers, fruit, working in the fields, in factories, which job will you be willing to let your teenager work at? which job will you allow your child to do to pay for his college? I can answer that...... none. you think keeping mexicans out of USA will get food on your plate? you think you will have those nice clothes or flowers that you give your wife if it wasnt for a mexican? no. none of this is possible. so why not give them a chance at the best place in the world, USA. if they want to come here we should open our arms and welcome them. they know it rocks here and we know it rocks here so why not let them come to a place where they can better their life? why be selffish, lets spread the wealth? or maybe Im wrong for caring about another human being.!!!!!
