I have the same problem, had it for years now and my doctor told me that as long as it doesn't hurt when it pops, it's ok.
you could have it checked out but I wouldn't worry too much

Yes it is TMJ. Your overbite is not inflicting it. The such a lot familiar motive is retaining your mouth open too lengthy on the dentists. The jaw joint is the weakest within the frame and essentially the most used. An Osteopathic guide practitioner can repair this -- they're going to let you know to not chunk tough on whatever for a couple of days at the same time it heals.

This is usually a result of myofascial trigger points in the chewing muscles and associated spinal subluxations of the upper cervical spine. Your family Chiropractor can assist you in evaluating and treating this condition (if your Chiropractor is not adequately trained in the diagnosis and treatment of TMJ syndromes, ask for a referral to a Chiropractor with this expertise).

Best wishes and good luck.

The popping will not usually go away. A mouth guard will help with any soreness, as will an anti inflammatory. If it doesn't hurt, I wouldn't worry about it too much.
