Oh you are so right. As if you don't feel self-consious enough as it is - I mean that is why you are there in the first place - to either stay fit and look good or try to get fit and look good. We all know what we need to work on - we don't need disapproving stares or gaping mouths glaring in our direction!!!

And this is why I don't go to Gyms any more. I used to a long time ago and even though I wasn't as fat then people still stared at me. Don't know if it was because I was overweight or for whatever reason, it just didn't feel good. If I could afford it I would go to Curves so that I could see other fat women like myself trying to reconstruct and make their bodies healthier and fit.

I stare at people when I go to the gym. Not on purpose, just as a habit. It depends on what catches my eye. Sometimes I stare just find out what kind of routine or exercise they are doing. Sometimes I do it to see how much weight they are lifting to gage my own progress. Sometimes I do because she looks good. sometimes I do it because they look funny. I never stare at the same person the whole time I am there, though. That is spooky.

hahaha i know exactly what you mean! I often felt self-conscious in the gym. I think it was because I looked older than I was so people thought I was weak (and some of the a$$ holes thought that was hillarious) now it has continued and I think it's just because people like to judge themselves compared to the people around them. I say that when you feel the eyes on you, go to an excercise that shows off your biggest muscle (a little bit of machoism never hurt anybody)

maybe your just that hott to look at!
or maybe people are just impressed at your workout!
people could also just be dazing and staring off in your direction. I've had people think i'm staring at them and i didn't even notice them, it was just the way me head was turned. OR, maybe it's someone new and they're not quite sure how to work out and whatever and just looking around to see what others are doing.hey if it's a girl and she keeps staring why not go n talk to her, lol!
