Step 1) Compliment - ie. "you're really pretty"
Step 2)" You wanna go get some cofee sometime?"
Note: You need to be able to adapt to the situation, and learn which girls you'll be able to score a number or a date.
Getting girls is nothing more than a numbers game - Some people have low odds (less than 1 out of every 10 girls you talk to)
Others have high odds (I can usually get 6 or 7 numbers for every 10 girls I talk to)
Confidence is key - don't be shy. The worst answer a woman can give you is no. And when you get that answer, know that you're not missing out on anything - she is - she just turned down the coolest guy on earth.

I had this problem working at a restaurant. I'm only 18 and its a pretty popular place for people my age. This summer a lot of girls came in and we could actually have some pretty good conversations while i got their food. If you are really getting a good feeling then go right ahead and slip a napkin with your name and number into their bag. I've gotten a lot of invitations to parties because of this trick. I doubt that you're going to be able to really find out a lot about the girl in the minutes it takes to make a sandwich so just smile, act polite, and give out YOUR number, if you're lucky then your life will become much more interesting

Well, normally I would not suggest you do that, like many people have said, it could get you in trouble with your boss if any of your co-workers catch you and just can't relate and decide to squeal on you.
But I do know how it feels to get advice that seems so simple yet isn't nearly as simple as just reading it. So let me just do the best I can. If a girl walks in that catches your eye, don't pull corny pick up lines. those make you seem desperate. Strike up a conversation at the register and then after a little small talk, say something like "want to swap numbers so we can keep in touch?" and then you can get to know her better. Don't say anything like "Can i have your number?"
Be careful what you are doing though. Remember what they told you in elementary school "Stranger Danger" haha

start up a friendship conversation and see if you share any interests like bowling, athletic games, anything, certian types of movies, Just start talking about the last movie you saw and ask her if she has seen any good ones. Go slow and casual. Good luck. Find some common ground. Don't be crude or sexual. Be a friend first

I hate when guys take forever to ask for my number, but don't be too forward. Strike up a simple conversation and if it seems like you have a lot in common, find something she likes to do and ask if she'd like to hang out sometime, then ask for her number. If she says no there's always other girls that walk in, right!? :]
Good luck.

Offer them a free subway sandwich. I assume Veg. Sub would do all for ya.
Make sure you ask her out after work. Becuase If you don't work than you won't have any bling bling for HER to spend.
Why would you want to ask a girl out? Some of them are, are like...not good human being.

Your boss may not like you coming on to some girl. Remember. She's a customer. Don't make a fool of yourself.

"Hi, I like you, would you be interested in going out with me?" simple as that. Like you said, that's a lot of girls so you'll bound to have someone say yes right?

Don't ask a customer out, unless you want to lose your job. Maybe you can slip your number into the bag when your boss isn't looking.
