You can believe in God and still go to hell for not worshiping Christ. So believing in God and not worshiping Christ is somehow BETTER than not believing in God or Christ when either way you're going to hell? I say let these atheists and non-Christians create as much evil as they want because they're going to hell anyway and Christians are going to heaven.

Well you got one thing wrong. Doesn't matter if your a christian or not. Denominations do not play a factor in God's judgement. Only that we believe He is God and follow His Word and way of life. He will only judge us according to what we have done in our lifetime, NOT by denominations. And I don't want atheists to believe in Christ what ever floats their boat and drowns it. Atheists don't create evil they are just misinformed and I give them my opinion on religion. I don't try to convert them. And yes you can believe in God and still go to hell because you aren't living how He would want you to live and following His Word. Believing in God is just the first step of an eternity of life with Him in Heaven.

Just believing in GOD won't get you to heaven, if they believe in GOD, but are not saved, then they are going to hell!
After all, Satan believes in GOD, but he's doomed for ever!
And to answer your question: Since TRUE Cristians have the love of GOD inside of them, and are to be "Christ like", and since Christ/GOD IS love, then therefore Christians are to love everyone in a GODLY manner, and naturally not want to see them go to hell!

As commonly observed among individuals professing any given school of thought or religious persuasion, there are both genuine and ingenuine followers but personally,I feel no reason to doubt anyone's word, until proven otherwise. EDIT..I would add this thought as well... During the past 5 years of participation on Y/A(predominately on the R & S forum),I've noted that some individuals are simply seeking to identify with a peer group...Anyone,that best represents or shares in common with them, a few strongly held convictions of beliefs but doesn't necessarily embrace nor practice off-line, the entirety of the religious or non-religious thought.. In other words..Some are simply seeking to "fit in" somewhere but aren't genuine representatives and are not genuinely committed....Sometimes,these individuals are indistinguishable from the genuine article(even among professing Christians)

Because, as Christians, it is our job to do what is called "The Great Commission", which is to win people over to Christianity, as God's children on this Earth.
Jesus forgives and died for all sins, and as long as you ask for His forgiveness and accept him into your life, there is nothing you can do to change that. Your going to sin, but in God's eyes, no sin is worse than another, and those who truly believe and ask for forgiveness will not go to Hell, but will spend eternity with God.

Does it give you a compass for choices?
I sit on the fence- and know a lot of Christians who couldn't go to heaven based on what they say they believe- on the other hand - heaven wouldn't be heaven to me if some of the atheists I love weren't there?!

Because believing in God is the first step to eventually believing Christ is God, and died for our sins.

I try to understand the question and this is the best I can do:

What??? God and Christ are the same, there is the Holy Trinity, and Jesus Christ is God wrapped in Flesh, so WTH!?!?!?

as a christian i feel that you've displayed God's word was not peaceful.

you talk about God's word with love not hoping they will go to hell. God doesn't even want anyone to go to hell...so why would you?

next time, i hope you find a better way to talk about God than using the hell defense.

Wait... what? Then wouldn't the goal be to get atheists to WORSHIP god? It sounds like your trying to stop the none-the-less annoying conflict with word play.

On another note, who wouldn't want to go to hell. Heaven is basically a world without conflict, which would be, well, boring. Plus, you get to meet all sorts of fun people in hell.

Some christians are rather fanatics of their religion. Some contradict the christian doctrine. As far as I am concerned, God is all love, loving father. What kind of all loving father would want his children to burn in hell no matter how bad they behaved?
I am a christian (as far as i am concerned), but then you tell this to any "average" christian and God help you....
