My mom just bought some glasses that are about half the size of a normal glass. I think they are called juice glasses. Why are they so small? I usually never use them because I like more than a shot of juice.

Juice contains a great amount of sugar and so should be consumed in small amounts. Also, juice is typically served at breakfast and generally a fruit is served with the entree. Therefore, a small amount of juice only is necessary. This is more formal than today's breakfast standards.

A serving of juice if 4 oz. It is small because most juice is loaded with sugars and not all of it is natural.

Because 1/2 cup of juice is one serving. This is a normal portion and it is what you should get use to drinking and stick to. Try to stop super sizing you'll feel better for it. Juice is condensed calories 1/2 cup is about 100 calories which is just about enough.

You know, when you empty a glass, you can put more in it! It may have to do with the fact that that is how much juice comes out of a freshly squeezed orange.
