Doesn't matter whether or not she can communicate with the dead. All that matters is that some fools believe she can.

Some of the stuff she says is weird, like how could she know this, and other stuff she pulls from the person asking the question. It's an old palm reader trick to get the person talking about themselves and just turn around what they said to appear as if you are asking the question.
As far as having an ability, she was probably a carnival barker in a former life.

Sometimes. But she isn't as powerful as she pretends. And I have to say that I don't agree with her about all the god crap she spews. I see ghosts too and have never seen anything to indicate there's a god, not even when I came very close to dying myself.
Everyone has different skills, you know. Some people have the natural ability to jump really far, some people have perfect pitch, some people can create amazing works of art, some people have the ability to see (and very rarely, speak) with the dead.

People can only communicate this way when they have demons working within them. No one can communicate with the dead. The dead are either in heaven or hell. These demons are familiar spirits (demons taking on the form of familiar people). Demons are not stupid, as they know our lives and what has taken place. They do not know the future and cannot predict the future. You do not want this as you have to open up yourself to demon possession. She is not fortunate.

Sylvia Brown is one of the biggest frauds there is. She gives false information about deceased and missing loved ones and then changes her story when she gets caught.

I don't think so. She guesses most of the time and then asks questions.
You too can be fortunate and be a prophet, just ask god and have a relationship with him.

Sylvia Browne claims, and I don't doubt her claim, that she has a "spirit guide" who helps her in her work. Unfortunately for her, according to the Bible this spirit is demonic in nature and not from God.

it's just cold reading, like all the other t.v. psychics. i know people that can use this simple technique rather convincingly, unfortunately they don't know the right people to get them on the air to make money from it.

i know a lot of pagans, and all of them think she is full of it. it embarasses the 'new age' section in the bookstore to have all of her books right there at the beginning.
