There could be a number of problems, 1/ is the area you are using it in have a number of ambients ie the hum of a fridge, 2/ it's an analogue cordless and these are out of date you require a phone that has DECT on it, this is a digital phone, use only BT or Panasonic phones the rest are average to useless, or 3/ you have a fault in your house, try using the phone in the test socket at the rear of the main socket, this should eliminate the other extensions and then you can go hunting for the faulty extension, 4/ the microphone is set too loud!!, 2 is the most likely.

If you hear an echo on your or anyone else's phone line it means you're overpaying your taxes.

I used to work in the faults dept at virgin Media and I used to deal with phones that were acting up and Digital tellies. In your case it could be one of two things. Your line is dodgy and you need an engineer out. Or two other people in your area are experiencing the same things and it is a fault in your service area. If it has been going on for a while then I suggest it is your line. Either way best to call your provider they should be able to help you out

guess #1- it is either a uniden or Vtech phone... good luck

guess #2- 2.4ghz phone? wifi router? try changing the channel the wifi router operates on... normallay at http://192.168.1.1 try admin for the name and password for the password, otherwise look up the default password in the user manual, or manufacturers website..

guess #3 - your base may be too near electronic devices, try moving your base to a diffrent location..

guess #4- it MAY be "dirty" or "noisy" electrical power... try using a diffrent electrical outlet
