I have had to arrested my cousin and one of my best friends from college, a former football team-mate of mine.

Family no, friends yes, luckily no real close friends. The way I look at it is that I have a job to do. If they put me in the position that I have to do my job then I will do it.

As far as family goes, no supervisor is going to let or force you to get into that situation. another officer would be called to handle it.

In my off time, I train a lot of mma (jiu jitsu). One night one of my regular training partners decided to drive drunk and hit a raised center median crashing his car. I showed up and did all I could to help the investigating officer, but I had another officer handle the incident.

Yes I have. It kinda sucked, but I was more pissed that he didn't care enough about the friendship to have to put me in the position to have to arrest him. Needless to say we don't speak anymore because he felt I should have talked all the other cops there out of arresting him instead.
