I am a Mormon and I want to know what people think about us. OH! By the way we stopped polygamy in the late1800's

I like my self, my mom and dad, my wife and kids; I like my elders quorum president.

I don't like Harry Reid, and about half of the Osmonds.

I liked about 2/3rds of my companions

I have met many Mormons over the years. I have found them to be honest, hard working, decent people.

I would say, though, that their doctrine is wrong. I truly believe Joseph Smith was not a prophet any more than Muhammed was. Most of the teachings are unscriptural and some are just plain fantasy. They are more of Mr. Smith's (documented) insanity and nothing of the Bible, at all.

Jesus was not a mere prophet, nor an angel, nor does Lucifer have any equality with Him. The Scriptures show that Jesus is God the Son and is only equal with God the Father. To say otherwise is false and unscriptural.

momatad can you name a religion that wasn't started by a mortal man? No, every sect in christianity was started by a man. Joseph Smith claimed Revelation from God instructing him to start His church. No other man up to that date had the rights to do so or since. You want to talk about man made religions look at all of Christianity every sect is started by a man that didn't like what the religion he came from was teaching except Joseph Smith and Martin Luther.

Martin Luther didn't want to start a new church, he wanted Catholism to go back to the biblical church.

I'm going to give you a blunt answer, but please understand that it's not meant to be mean. Besides, it's not my answer. You wanted to know what people think, so I'll tell you what someone I know recently told me about Mormons.

She was talking specifically about Mitt Romney. She said, "If he really believes the Mormon religion, he's stupid. If he doesn't really believe it, but is just giving it lip service because he was raised in it, he's dishonest."

The reason she said he's stupid if he believes the religion, is that, from what she understands, the story of how the religion was founded, and the course of its history, make it very transparent that it was a scam from the start, founded by a shyster with a police record.

Again, nothing personal, just trying to answer your question! I assume you would want to hear the bad as well as the good. God bless.

Mormons are just like any other group some I like, respect, love and consider friends, others are pretty obnoxious..

I consider people on an individual basis rather than lumping them in with everyone else in any of their chosen groupings.. ...

I almost joined the church until I looked a little closer and found the false prophecies of Smith and learned what the bible said about false prophets.
the claims that the church makes about the priesthood are also false.

Although accepted as a form of Protestantism, it is often taught as a cult. A religion founded by a man who followed a 'angel' named Moroni in the mid 19th century. I understand what it is but cannot accept its tenets as a true religion.
