Why does every comic book reader insinuate that Bush wants the oil in Iraq. The US uses almost no oil from that region and Bush is pretty well off; what would he do with it?

And now; back to the adventures of Spider-Man!

OK, that makes sense! Why did we help to put him office? If oil was a factor, why didnt we just steal it while we were solely in charge? Nobody likes what is going on but until you or the rest of the world can prove it is about OIL...deal with it.

Because Bush wanted Iyad Allawi to be Prime Minister. If the damn Iraqis had voted in Bush's candidate there would be these damn problems but the Iraqi's didn't listen no they heard free elections and thought that meant they could vote for whoever they wanted the choose Nuri al-Maliki. Why won't these people when given free rights by US exercise those right and vote in the people we tell them to? Next war we should just tell them who's going to be their leaders.

Sadam was working for the CIA before he took over Iraq just like Fidel in Cuba you people don't know crap.

Bush is not sure what he wants to do with al Maliki. On one hand he needs to keep to Maliki in power to show to the rest of the world that the Iraq project is working and the government will stabilize. On the other hand, he knows that Maliki's hold on his position if weak and Bush cannot ignore the cry from the international community that Maliki is a paper Prime Minister. Bush is going to talk out of both sides of his mouth as far as Maliki is concerned until his term is up in January of 2009. Then he will get to pass it off to someone else to fix.

Actually, he isn't trying to overthrow the Prime Minister of Iraq..

I think you are confused. The P.M. of Iraq has stated that the U.S. is welcome to start pulling out their troops, but Bush is stalling saying that Iraq is still not ready to assume military and policing duties for itself.

In fact, in the following speech, given in front of several VFW, he asks for support and patience for the new Iraqi government. This is the transcript:

He isn't. Further, he never will for the simple fact that the Prime Minister was, indeed, elected. By the Iraqi people. The first time anyone of that generation got to choose their leadership.

If you're talking about Maliki this might be the only smart thing Bush does or has done while in office. Maliki is in bed with Iran and Syria. He is very much disliked in Iraq and it was a huge mistake to put him in as PM.

Bush is the one supporting the president of Iraq. It is several democrat senators that are calling for him to be thrown out.

Great question! Even though Bush pretends to support Shiite Malaki, the handwriting is on the wall. He can't get control of Bush's precious oil, so they going back to Thug Allawi....
