There are 3 categories of children that can have parents that are illegally here:
1. Children born in Mexico and brought here through no fault of their own
2. Children born in the USA (citizens)
3. Children with one undocumented parent and one citizen parent.
With group #1- If they were brought here at a very young age this will be the only country they will remember. They are more "American" than anything else. If they have been here since infancy, what would it benefit anyone to have them removed- except that you could essentially stamp your feet and scream that you are right?
Group #2- These kids have rights. Like it or not, they are citizens. What if their parent is deported and leaves them here, foster homes are few- is that your tax dollars at work the way you want?
Group #3- If the bio-dad (or mom) is the soul or primary support for this family, his deportation could result in the family going on public assistance. Plus, psychology bills for growing up without dad

So, my question is this---- the money that the undocumented are paying (by federal taxes- through TIN, through buying cars, homes, renting homes, buying clothing, food, appliances, eating at restaurants, renting halls for celebrations, etc) _ without this money, and, with the new "costs" of these children-- are we really going to come ahead if they are deported?

Heart &- I am not stretching it at all for the area that I live. There are A LOT of undocumented men that have kids with white women and, they BARELY make it - with both working. These kids CAN'T be deported. And, their citizen parent has EVERY right to apply for services for them.

I feel most sorry for the children, who did NOT make any decision to break the law but are suffering the consequences of their parents' actions. I believe that situations like these are WHY we'll need a complex solution to deal with many aspects of our illegal immigration problem, and why the people who want it to be just good guys and bad guys aren't helping matters.

1. Those under 18 have not accrued unlawful presence under INA Section 2l2(a)(9)(B) , but they do not have a right to stay unless their parents are legalized. Under current law, they are deportable if they are likely to become a public charge. There is bi-partisan support of legislaton that would provide for the eventual legalization of those who attended school here from age 16.
2. US citizens may stay or go as their parents think best. They can not be denied any right that any other citizen child has. The 14th amendment says as much and the Supreme Court clearly ruled this in United States v. Wong Kim Ark, 169 U.S. 649 (1898).
3. The citizen parent may petition for their child under age 21 if the marriage was before they were 18. Since the child has no unlawful presence, I do not see why their immigration application should not be approved. There is a question as to whether the application should be made here or there. This is not a matter of law, but of USCIS interpretation. We need a law which clarifies that adjustment of status and issuance of K3 and K4 visas from within the US is authorized under the LIFE act.

Why is it when parents bring their children from Mexico, at any age, it's okay to take them away from the only country they ever knew, that is acceptable behavior, but when you are deported because you broke the law and your children go with you that's treated like a crime.
Children that are born here have rights and when they are 18 they can exercise those rights, and I have no problem keeping them here if need be and paying for foster care. Once we stop illegal immigration those bills will stop, being that we will not longer have to deal with illegal immigration to the degree we have to now.
There are so many children in this country that are being cared for by only one parent, what makes you think that group 3. children need more care than others in the same boat.

They are not undocumented. They are illegal.
They are bringing this country down.
Not all illegals use TIN . Many work under the table.
They take more than they put back into the system.
Why should legals suffer because of illegals?? Why should our children's future and education be put in jeopardy.
What about the legal children who grow up without a father??
What about the legal Americans who work their butts off to try and make ends meet?? And do so legally?? What about their children.?
There are many Legal American families who are trying to make ends meet but still don't get the freebies that illegals get. This is just plain wrong.

The ones forced here from Mexico by their parents deserve amnesty at age 18. The ones born here are currently citizens, and their parents took that risk by coming here illegally. This means they basically risked losing their own child to come here. They don't care about the child, they just want what they want when they wanted it. The ones with one parent who is a citizen are regular citizens too, and if their one parent gets deported, it is the parent's fault for nto establishing a legal way of being here.

Hear is my honest opinion:
1. They're illegally here, whether they know it or not. Just because it's the only country they ever remember doesn't excuse the fact that their parents made a mistake.
2. Children born in the U.S. should be deported with their parents, regardless of their citizenship status. They're still minorities and belong with their parents.
3. That child should have to choose between one parent or the other. Once again, it was the fault of the parents.

Two of my children were born in another country. Their babysitter was citizen of that country. Their first words were in the language of that country. They are considered dual citizen. As a parent my children were my responsibility and when I returned to the US they came home with me. If I committed a crime and was sent to jail should I expect the judge to say never mind because you have a family? If I do not teach my child right from wrong but instead teach them it is OK to break the laws you don't like am I a responsible parent. Families being torn apart is a sad situation but who in reality is responsible for that the parent who broke the law and separated their family the parent or me? You reap what you sow.

1. They are still illegal. The only people to blame for their situation is their parents.
2. They are free to return with their deported parent. If their parents leave them here, then they can be put up for adoption.
3. If the sole supporter gets deported, looks like the other parent has to get something called a job. I supported my son myself by working, not getting public assistance. My child also grew up with out his father and didn't need psychological counseling.
I feel bad for the kids put in this situation too. But using children to invoke sympathy doesn't work anymore.

First the word is illegal, not undocumented.
1. What about children of murderers and drug dealers? Aren't they just as innocent? Maybe we should not send their parents to prison because it is detrimental to the child.
2. Children who are born to people here illegally should not be US citizens, simple!
3. The majority of children in the US grow up in single parent homes today. I grew up in a single parent home and there were no psychology bills. We were on public assistance for a very short time when my parents got divorced but my mother worked hard and became independent.
