NO, NO, NO!! You do not train people that are set on taking your land to be better killers. Germans and Romans anyone? THis is the dumbest idea I have ever heard of, it failed for the Romans in the 300's and it will fail for us in the 2100's. You can not let people that are not Citizens and are not part of your culture learn how you make war--that is the big no, no of all time!!

The modern army is technology intensive and is selective. Few would qualify without lowering requirements and thus endangering others and themselves. Good English is essential. The Army could use more new recruits but that doesn't include cannon fodder. WWII movies are not a good source of information on what the Army is like and so many people not understanding this is the ONLY downside to not drafting people into national service.

Yours is a "big government" solution. It adds another layer of bureaucracy to solve a problem cause by previous layers of bureaucracy.
The solution is to replace the honey drawing them here with vinagar.
As far as armed force service being available to those desiring a fast track to Citizenship I'm all for it, but I'm dead set against making anybody citizens.
I'm assuming you understand the difference between Citizenship and citizenship . . . citizens have no Constitutional rights, Citizens, on the other hand, have full Constitutional rights.
If you have a slave surveilance number (social security number), you are a citizen and have signed away your Constitutional rights. There aren't many Citizens left.

my friend was detained as an illegal and was given 2 options. Get deported or learn English and join the military. he joined the Marine Corp and LAter joined the Army. He is a great NCO and great friend

Nope, that is stupid. Then in a war, the other countries would see us allowing people who got away with crimes serve in our armed forces. Then they will feel like the US can't even enforce their laws and that we are weak.

No, what would you do with the ones that were unable to serve because of age, health, unable to speak English, or other assortment of reasons. We as a country should be ashamed of our self's if we out source our military to those who have broken our laws

I think that should grant citizenship, yes, providing their record isn't horrible. Although I just saw some legal Mexicans stand against the war and one went to jail instead of killing, he said. I have to applaud their strong feelings on this/

no why would we want a group of people who refuse to even to learn English. and where does their allegiance stand
The least'' likely to put America first are those who come from Muslim countries and Mexican-Americans.
In response to a survey of newly naturalized citizens in Los Angeles, 90 percent of Muslim immigrants said that if there were a conflict between the United States and their country of origin, they would be inclined to support their country of origin, said John Fonte of the Hudson Institute

I will be satisfied if all that wished to come into and live in this nation would go through the proper procedure. When everyone realizes that the law is the law, and respecting our nation's laws will get you in faster and allow you to remain, then I will be satisfied.
