Sometime you have to give people a push or lesson. You must be direct with the person and give praises once your friend gives you support.

Ex: If you say. "I am going to try to jog each morning. I really want to lose weight. Can you give me your advice and support?"

The person. "You have my total support and don't forgot to bring water".

When the person give you supports you let that person know how much you appreciate being supportive...praises.

The person now know that you ask for help and moral support. The more often you do this the person would be automatically get use to giving you support in the future without asking...Try this method I am sure it will work...God bless

You need to find a friend who is supportive of you too. It's hard being the one who always listens, always makes the effort, and so forth. People who take way more than they give in friendships are toxic.
