Then why aren't you doing anything to fix the problem?
Why aren't you developing new engines for cars, or new technology to replace coal burning generators?
Some claim that global warming kills over 150,000 people a year, then they choose to arrange other people's furniture! Do you think it's someone elses job to fix these things? Take action yourself!
So don't you think that it would be better to develop a device that pulls co2 out of car emissions, or whine about people driving SUV's?
If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem, right?

Sorry Gary - If you make the statement that global warming is killing 150,000 people a year, you better be able to defend it.
No one should be able to pass off statements like that and not be held accountable.

why waste my money when the government is doing it for me?
governments are spending millions (billions) based on a "best guess".
not only that, they put the money on a losing horse.
not one of there predictions have been right yet.

I am. I am working on a product to reduce people's fuel consumption between 10-30%. As the previous poster acknowledged ... "Gimme the money I need and I'll be finished faster!" It is not a magic pill and it does not change the operating parameters of the vehicle. It is in use now but only on commercial fleet vehicles, I am trying to develop a business model that will get the same results for "non-professional" drivers.
I don't arrange people's furniture, I take it that was just another of your ubiquitous snide comments. You are the type of person that makes me wonder if I am doing this to make a difference or just for the money because you are one of those hairless apes that don't seem to be worth saving.
So what are YOU doing, you put out the challenge, now face up to it yourself mister!

I don't know Mr. Jello if the warming is going or coming. You don't know me and what I'm doing about global warming . The fact is I'm investing in alternative energy. That's where all my extra cash is going to that I'm saving on my utility bills because I'm running all solar and loving it .
Ill bet there's others on hear doing the same thing . Just doing it our way . Personally i think I'm part of the solution

I guess working on energy efficiency for the heavy industries in large developing countries counts, doesn't it ?
Sorry that I don't have as much time to contribute to Yahoo Q/A... finding and implementing the solutions takes time.

"Take action yourself"
You are rude and you obviously love to insult and annoy people.
What do you think most people concerned about global warming does? They do what they can at the best of their knowledge. Not everyone has the knowledge or skill to develop new inventions but everyone has the right to express their concern when they think our future is depending on it.

Government should be spending money building nuclear power plants to replace coal power plants (and methane power plants) along with R&D money for synthetic fuels.
Why should I have to pay anything when tax money should be going towards solving the problem (and this problem is too large for an individual to solve anyway, it will require government action)?

Wow I am sorry to hear the aswers before mine. If we created the problem we can solve it. It is just a matter of time. As for options we have many but as the many answer before mine show we just don't want to.

Give me money for research and this wouldn't be so insulting. Why don't you do something instead of making people feel guilty about living. Or maybe you aren't an engineering genius either?

I wouldn't be surprised if 150,000 people a year were having heart attacks because they're believing these nutjobs that the sky is REALLY falling...
