Unfortunately, it doesn't work. Color-enhancing shampoos are made for artificial hues. They literally make the dye's color stronger and more vibrant. If you have no dye, there is nothing for the shampoo to enhance. It usually dries out the hair. If you want to enhance your color, get a color glaze. John Frieda makes one that works very well. Just make sure to use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner to keep your hair healthy beforehand.
Good luck! :)

There are a lot of shampoos, conditioners and other hair products that don't actually color the hair, but bring out the highlights of either natural or dyed hair. So using a shampoo for dyed hair will probably do nothing except clean your hair and enhance whatever highlights are hidden there.

If you use something like Pantene Expressions (I use Mohagony to Onyx since I dyed my hair dark brown) and you have blonde hair, then it might not really do anything. It might make your hair a little darker (I'm not sure though.. you'll have to ask someone who's used it on blonde hair). But on Brown to black colors, it will make your hair shiny and more vibrant and maybe a deeper color. If you want to change your hair color without dying it, use a color depositing shampoo / conditioner combo. Some make your hair change right away, some make gradual changes. Kinda like those tanning lotions. :]

oh yeah...it works just the same. But realize -- there are 2 different types of color enhansing shampoos/conditioners. Sunsilk and john freida make ALLNATURAL products without dyes that give your hair a blond or brown or red boost. So does pantene, but i was always told that pantene is çr"@p and ive never used it.
ARTec from l'oréal makes products thatboost color because THEY HAVE DYE in them. This too would boost natural hair colors.

I don't know. I used Brilliant Brunette on my hair which isn't dyed and it looks pretty much the same..but then again, I only used it once.

It will build up on there and make it change color after extended use.
I asked a cosmetology instructor.

can dry it out sometimes...but you could try it. use it for a couple nights and if you notice drying, then stop and use regular shampoo.
